Haydos Posted 29 April 2012 Posted 29 April 2012 No,no and no. I would like Sam Baldock on loan, if West Ham go up. Huseklepp is also pretty good when i have seen him play. And this is just a joke. You're not in charge of the team, you're a fan so obviously you're allowed your own consequence free opinion but I don't understand how people can outright dismiss Beckford and not provide decent reasons or replacements. Admittedly I don't know too much about either of those players but a quick look on some stats websites show: Huseklepp - 6 goals in 27 games for Portsmouth, 2 in 14 for Bari and 2 in 11 for Birmingham. Baldock - 33 goals in 102 games for MK dons and 5 in 23 for West Ham. Futacs (Because some seem to think he's the answer for some reason) - 5 in 29 for Portsmouth. You don't want Beckford but you want these two? Why? EDIT: Already wrote my post by the time Corky posted but already Futacs is mentioned. Laughable.
Guest ttfn Posted 29 April 2012 Posted 29 April 2012 Out of interest, who would you prefer? Realistically. Fryatt Austin Heskey Bothroyd Of the players I've seen enough to have a proper opinion on; they would all be a marked improvement.
Corky Posted 29 April 2012 Posted 29 April 2012 EDIT: Already wrote my post by the time Corky posted but already Futacs is mentioned. Laughable. You didn't think I meant that? I'm as baffled as you are that people want him, I've said it before.
TonyMontana Posted 29 April 2012 Posted 29 April 2012 Fryatt Austin Heskey Bothroyd Of the players I've seen enough to have a proper opinion on; they would all be a marked improvement. Beckford is better than all of those.
Guest ttfn Posted 29 April 2012 Posted 29 April 2012 Beckford is better than all of those. I feel tired of using these words but... Based on what?
Happy Fox Posted 29 April 2012 Posted 29 April 2012 Keep Him END OFF, if we get Heskey Heskey/Beckford Heskey/ Nugent You are guaranteed a load of goals.
Haydos Posted 29 April 2012 Posted 29 April 2012 Fryatt Austin Heskey Bothroyd Of the players I've seen enough to have a proper opinion on; they would all be a marked improvement. 1) Fryatt I have never had a problem with and it would be interesting to see him back here. 2) Austin is one who I'd be most keen to see here. Highly rated in this division and I'd be surprised if we weren't looking at the same sort of price Bristol wanted for Maynard. Would approve but would come with a high price tag and wages. 3) Heskey, if he would actually want to come here, would almost certainly demand a hefty wage, something else used against Beckford. Considering Heskeys current wage I'd hazard a guess that he'd want a tonne more than what Beckfords rumoured to be on. This is without even questioning his age and actual ability these days. Arguably he'd be a handful in this league but it would be a huge gamble. 4) People question Beckford's 'attitude' and for that reason I'd have to pass on Bothroyd. This is on top of the fact that he is already 29 and has done next to nothing at QPR.

Beckford get what? 30k a week? and have scored 9 goals.. For me thats just not good. If we take Sam Baldock first, i think we will fit Leicester better than West ham, they play the Big Sam way ( Stoke ). He´s not good in the air so maybe thats where the lake of goals is coming from. Huseklepp is abit like Baldock just alot more speed and can play winger, i think is abit hard to judge him in his first season in England first in pompey and then other new team blues, but i do agree with you he dont score alot of goals.
TonyMontana Posted 29 April 2012 Posted 29 April 2012 I feel tired of using these words but... Based on what? Top 5 goal per minute rates in the premier league last season 1. Robin Van Persie (Arsenal) – 1 goal per 86.9 minutes (10/869) 2. Chicarito (Scum) – 1 goal per 94 minutes (Total minutes 9/846) 3. Dimitar Berbatov ( Scum) – 1 goal per 95.9 minutes (19/1823) 4. Hes scored goals at every level hes been at

TonyMontana Posted 29 April 2012 Posted 29 April 2012 Apart from the Championship, where he's been incredibly poor for a large part of the season. But if hes got such a good strike rate at a higher level then does that surely mean A) He's not happy or B) Leicester arent playing to his strengths. Obviously I dont know because I havnt watched him all season as you have so Im just putting the question to you. Id have him back at Elland Road in a heartbeat and so would every other Leeds fan. You only had to look at the reception he got yesterday.

TonyMontana Posted 29 April 2012 Posted 29 April 2012 Give us Snodgrass and a £1m and he is all yours otherwise no chance. Then theres no chance. I dont think Warnock would be that daft

He's not been anywhere near the answer to our problems but I know he has the ability, it's just getting it out of him.
katieakita Posted 29 April 2012 Posted 29 April 2012 Then theres no chance. I dont think Warnock would be that daft He's not your problem, Bates is and sadly for you he probably is that daft. the only silver lining for you is he won't pay his alledged wage.
dannythefox Posted 29 April 2012 Posted 29 April 2012 We will not be getting Heskey why People think Pearson will go for him is beyond me he only goes for young hungry players.

Oh I know that mate. I do think Snodgrass will go but I think it will be a cash only deal as that benefits Bates. Its a shame because he makes us tick (similar to how Gradel did) and has been the one shining light in a very poor season.

Hes scored goals at every level hes been at Interesting, but of course totally made up. Your statistics are based on him scoring six times, when in fact he scored 8, and if he only played 668 minutes (an AVERAGE of 20 for each game he played) I'd be astonished. When you say "he's scored goals at every level he's played at" you seem to mean "he's scored goals in League 1". Because he has never scored prolifically above that level.
buzzy Posted 29 April 2012 Posted 29 April 2012 Unless I'm mistaken, I thought that FFP will essentially mean we need to keep/sign players who represent 'value for money' at the club. Neither Mills nor Beckford do IMO.. And would be the first ones id try to offload. Sure, if you're paying big wages on a striker who has scored shit loads for us this season, all well and good, keep him. But do people really think that Beckford represents such value for money? I bloody don't!! just shut up your like a ****ing record on and on and on just change the ****ing record or just **** off. read what bert said further up this page to a response to someone it makes a lot of sense
Captain... Posted 29 April 2012 Posted 29 April 2012 I want Beckford to go so we can stop these fvcking threads about him. I will miss using this if goes though:

He scored 10 goals all together in 18 Starts. Most of the games he played were as a sub. The stats are here so it is infact correct. Even if taken a few months before the end of the season. Id say his goal to minute ratio in the premier league wasnt far off prolific to be fair http://therepublikofmancunia.com/stats-10-most-effective-players-in-the-league-chicharito-van-persie-berbatov-tevez-rooney/
L4EV Posted 29 April 2012 Posted 29 April 2012 Fryatt Austin Heskey Bothroyd Of the players I've seen enough to have a proper opinion on; they would all be a marked improvement. None of those 4 are actually better than Beckford, Bothroyd is overrated, Fryatt is mainly average and Heskey is shit.
