The future of Martyn Waghorn...

whats this got to do with this thread its about waghorn my answer is get rid nobetter than some of the players that some of you lot would want out of the club

How many players are we "getting rid" of? Wellens, Gally, Waghorn? Bamba? Mills? What happened last time we signed 10 players in one summer? Waghorn is class. He showed it his first year of what he can do, and Pearson will bring him back to form. Same as Nugent, and same as he has bought Beckford back into form too.

....which Waghorn was during Pearson's first spell here. But the Sven groupies wiped that from their memories

Glad to see him back tonight - probably the one high point of yet another dismal evening.

Im not a Sven groupie, but I can`t agree. He`s played 75 games ( inc sub ) for us and has a return of 16 goals. Now from a young player this is not the end of the world, however his progress has actually gone backwards. He arrived and made a difference at the club, however as people have mentioned above, he cant trap a ball and the corner flags are actually in more danger than the goal when he shoots. Someone else summed it up lovely...

He`s not shit, but he`s not good

Pearson has certainly not brought Beckford `back to form`. He has been pretty barren for us to be fair, despite him having bags of talent. And Nugent...well Pearson has made him totally ineffective by pushing him out left!

Agree with you about too many ins and outs though.

w ell according to some fans we should get rid of half the squad because according to some fans some are no good or there attitude is very poor . waghorn is not the answer nor is pearson

I'm happy if he stays. He doesn't think he's better than he is and always gives 100% and lets face it he cant be any worse than some of the shit we've seen this season.

I'd echo the fact the guy has had a torrid season with injury.

You cant judge him on one sub appearance! He's a young kid coming back to fitness and yet people still like to criticise.

Im not saying for 1 minute he's the answer but give him a chance if nothing else

The problem we have = a load of overpaid *****. Stop pointing fingers at the manager, we've had 2 managers with the majority of this group and it hasn't worked. CHANGING THE MANAGER ISN'T THE ANSWER, GETTING RID OF THE ARROGANT SHITE'S CURRENTLY WEARING THE SHIRT IS.

Haha dont beat around the bush do you!

Great post though and fully agree

I'd beg to differ. Beckford has shown more effort, application and "passion" under Pearson than Sven...and I don't think i meant to put Nugent :P hah.

You need to check your stats boy and report the truth:

http://www.lcfc.com/page/ProfilesDetail/0,,10274~42616,00.html

Waghorn played: started 39 as sub (37) Goals: 16

That is not the same as played 75 (apart from the fact it is 76) a lot of his sub appearances were no more than 10 minutes, his actual record is started 39 scored 16, that is not a bad return. It is like only looking at Beckford's league goals, or discounting Gally's goals from set-pieces, why do people deliberately try to mis inform with statistics, did you not think you would get caught boy, did you not think I would check?

Your card has been marked, I will watching you like a hawk...

Ha ha ha. I did put ( inc Sub ) which means including as a sub

But yes, i did put 75 games and it is in fact 76, I didn`t include last night....

I'm not sure anyone can form an opinion on whether or not he is 'good enough' or can still 'cut it' as you can't make an informed decision on 25 minutes of play. Given that he sees him in training every day and knows how fit he is etc. I guess Nigel is best placed to make a decision on this kids future.

Personally, I'd like him to come good for us and hope his injuries haven't stunted his development.

I would like to apologise for slating him for blazing wildly over the bar under no pressure, until I realised it was Drinkwater.
