The future of Martyn Waghorn...

...Seems pretty assured to me. Pearson just said "If every person at the club was like him, we would be alright". Not sure if he meant personality or ability, but either way, they clearly get on extremely well and i can't see Waggers going anywhere. We happy about this?

I wasn't thinking of this as a criticism of Pearson in any way, so i'm surprised at the reaction. He probably just meant the passion Waghorn shows for the club, compared to some others.

Not really bothered.

He's not great and he's not shit. Just inconsistent with flashes of brilliance and absolute howlers.

He's exceptionally easy to manage, so of course Pearson likes him. I doubt it has anything to do with his ability. He's a good league one striker but is definitely not good enough for the prem. The more Pearson talks, the less I can ever see him managing in the premier league. He's belongs in the small time unfortunately.

We all know that Waghorn would walk over hot coals for this club.

He clearly means the attitude.

Waghorn is not a top quality player but what he gives you is 100% commitment. If we have 11 players with that in the locker, things will turn.

Think back to the play off night in Cardiff. When was the last time we had that sort of team spirit? It was that night.

Man for man, West Ham didnt have that much more quality than us tonight but they operated as a team.

We need to start looking past things like the quality of an individual player and try to get a team ethic going again.

I heard a rumour that Nige wants the giant screens removed and replaced by giant abacuses so he can finally realise his ambition of reducing the game to down to a life size table football where all spontaneity is removed.

The problem we have = a load of overpaid *****. Stop pointing fingers at the manager, we've had 2 managers with the majority of this group and it hasn't worked. CHANGING THE MANAGER ISN'T THE ANSWER, GETTING RID OF THE ARROGANT SHITE'S CURRENTLY WEARING THE SHIRT IS.

You shouldn't be. Pearson can't say anything without it being twisted to prove how terrible he is.

Pearson acknowledges a player who wants to play for the club and will work his arse off yet the blinkered morons get riled up saying he's delusional.

He states that if we have 11 players with passion and desire we will be alright. He expresses the same opinion that we have all had after each disappointing game yet he's called "delusional". It's sweet that they let you lot out to come to the matches but can they at least block this site from the care home pc? ****ing hell.

:appl:

Was glad to hear Nigel, subtly, tell it as it is tonight. Half of the players we've signed give it their all when it comes to the big games and the local rivals but simply don't seem to care enough when it comes to playing the rubbish sides, that's how they got their reputations, by performing in the big games when really a lot of them are nothing more than average championship players who don't care. Waggy is the perfect example of the sort of people we need at the club, can't wait for the summer so Nigel can assemble a real team as he did in his previous spell.

still need players who are actually half decent..

he was refering to passion the will to win enthusiasm commitment effort and pride which to many players aint had this year .if you have 11 players with the attitude waghorn has thats a good start imo

....which Waghorn was during Pearson's first spell here. But the Sven groupies wiped that from their memories

Glad to see him back tonight - probably the one high point of yet another dismal evening.

It was Waghorn's first game after a long lay-off with an injury.

It's a bit harsh to judge him too harshly based on this game. What Pearson actually said was he wish 'all his pupils' were as good as Waghorn. This was in response to Stringer saying Pearson looked like a headmaster.

I think it is hinting at splits and ill-discipline in the dressing room which Pearson desperately needs to address. Luckily he will have the perfect chance to do this over the Summer. Player power has already seen off Sousa and Sven...I dread to think the problems which would be caused by another managerial casualty caused by the players.

The club would be unmanageable .

An average player with grit, effort and determination, can often perform better than someone with natural ability and none of the above.
