There must be millions of people that now know of LCFC, who had never heard of us before he came to City. With Svens international prophile, he was able to attract big name players. IMO he would have got us into the Prem. maybe not the season just ended, but next season for sure. There is just something about sven that enables him attract star players. He had his faults of course, but he made some good signings. Kasper, Peltier, Konchesky, Bamba, St.Ledger, Nugent, Beckford,Vassell,Danns. IMO we were a couple of players short of a promotion side, a wide player & a creative midfielder. The Thais dropped a big clanger by sacking him & I would guess that they have since realised that? Ah well, good luck to Nigel with his team building & if we are not in a auto promottion place by Christmas, I think he will be picking up his P45.

The big name signings from Leeds, Huddersfield, Liverpool Reserves, Hibernian, Preston, Portsmouth, Everton Reject Pile, Free Transfer List, Crystal Palace and the Man City Injury List. Some of them can perhaps be classed as names, but many weren't even particularly liked by the fans of the clubs they were at.
pablos111 Posted 7 May 2012 Posted 7 May 2012 Yeah lets get rid of half the team, buy another 5 or 6 players and all sit back and watch them spend all next season getting to know each others play and gell together. It will be yet another mid table championship finish and if we keep them players then might get up in 2014/2015 season if NP hasn't been sacked by then. Yes we should have kept Sven but who knows Nigel might just become an internationally known manager! (dont think so).
foxes2011 Posted 8 May 2012 Posted 8 May 2012 To the creater of this thread. i would like to make the following sugestion. that you make this topic into a vote and reply topic so us loyal Leicester Fans can vote on weather Sven was better than Pearson, for the record looking at it now from afar i just feel sven would have came out with more points than Pearson. and tbh im starting to lose faith with the Pearson way only thing is though whos gona do a much better job??

I would do that but I don't have any ideas how to. I loved Sven but I think Pearson is probably a better fit for Leicester. I think he knows the division whereas Sven did not. I don't think Pearson with his 'correct way of going about things' will create the kind of buzz that Sven did last Summer, but then that didn't do us that much good anyway. Unfortunately pre-season was the most exciting thing about last season. It was all down hill once the season actually started. Nigel might be a miserable b********d but he is our miserable b********d ! By the way, on the subject of managing expectations, anyone noticed SkyBet have us favourites to go up at 8-1?
