Jimothy Posted 29 May 2012 Posted 29 May 2012 I'm off to Newcastle in a couple of weeks for a stag do I've had to organise, and as I'm useless at organising anything I haven't checked out where the decent bars, restaurants, clubs, stripclubs etc are to go to. I've had a quick google and a few names have cropped up but it's a minefield. Anyone been there recently and have any suggestions.
Saxondale Posted 29 May 2012 Posted 29 May 2012 All the stag and hen parties seem to mill around an area called Bigg Market, which is full of the usual cheesy, shitty sort of places. Head for that then ask some local simpletons where to find a strip club, if you haven't already been handed a flyer by this point. For early drinks, head down towards the quayside where there's some nice-ish bars, then work your way back up the hill towards the mayhem.
StanSP Posted 29 May 2012 Posted 29 May 2012 I went there in summer of 2010. Only time I've been to Newcastle and can honestly say that weekend I went was one of the best weekends I've had of my life. We stayed in the Travelodge Newcastle Central which is near Quayside, which is good to get the night going. I can only remember a couple bars we went to (Sam Jacks and one other, I think Indigo) and then my brother organised VIP entry in to Tiger Tiger. The latter is quite expensive though. Then we were going to go Digital but that was £15 entry, and we saw a KFC instead and went there .
Voll Blau Posted 29 May 2012 Posted 29 May 2012 Don't remember much about the last time we played up there.

Been to a few up there and the only advice I would give is to look smart and dont wear short sleeve shirts if you have tattoos. Got turned away many times by the many tattooed bouncers up there..........and if Shindig is still going then don't miss it mate fantastic dance club.
Frost Posted 29 May 2012 Posted 29 May 2012 Last time I went out in Newcastle a few months back, I was in a club where Alan Pardew told me the security he was with were 'c***s.' Good laugh he was, he was absolutely off his face. Saw Obertan and Simpson out as well. Don't go out in Newc too much but Riverside is a good night on a Sat. Also, Tup Tup as well.
acooling08 Posted 29 May 2012 Posted 29 May 2012 If you're in Newcastle you won't need strippers, the average girl in a nightclub will be wearing less. Have fun
Jon the Hat Posted 29 May 2012 Posted 29 May 2012 Geordie women scare the shit out of me. Good luck son.
AaronH Posted 29 May 2012 Posted 29 May 2012 I was up there a few weeks ago for a stag, best place we found was The Gate loads of pubs and clubs under one roof and loads of pubs around it, not too bad iin most places and there also is a Aspers casino. We struggled to find strip clubs (surprising) but found one called blue velvet, in there we paid 70 quid and the stag got a dance on the stage with 3 strippers pretty damn good. Need anything else?
Guest Posted 30 May 2012 Posted 30 May 2012 Do not, and I repeat, do not go to Whitley Bay. I would have been overdressed if I'd decided to go out in my underwear. I was also called a "dyke" for spending the night with my then boyfriend, and not tarting about. That's the kind of logic you get after drinking Lambrini, I guess...
rico Posted 30 May 2012 Posted 30 May 2012 Check Newcastle Races see if they have a Ladies day on,we went on a stag a couple of years ago, heaving with clunge
Tincy Posted 30 May 2012 Posted 30 May 2012 It's all about a place called 'The Gate' basically it's built like the shires, but inside it's just bars bars and more bars!
simmo1977 Posted 30 May 2012 Posted 30 May 2012 In my limited experience of the gate DO NOT punch a doorman, these things tend to not end well.
