davieG Posted 4 August 2012 Posted 4 August 2012 Granted, but the other team doesn't do enough either and they still get to go through! Granted but the teams we can't beat, even on penalties are not the same team every time.
21st Century Fox Posted 5 August 2012 Posted 5 August 2012 Just got back from Cardiff and I'm fully convinced that Stuart Pearce may be one of the least imaginative managers around. Granted we had a team that haven't had as much playing time together as a lot of the competition we've come up against but his tactics are quite shocking. We played like a team with time to kill when we were in less than advantaeous posistions, I've never seen a team go forward with attacking possession only to pass backwards and start all over again, so many time. Absolutely frustrating night.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 5 August 2012 Posted 5 August 2012 Sturridge was always going to miss. Just knew it. Wasn't a good pen. Having said that Ramsays second was worse.
Guest ttfn Posted 5 August 2012 Posted 5 August 2012 The 3rd and 4th Korean penalties were brilliant. I remember having a debate with somebody after Euro 2012 where I said that it's about time we started to point the finger at the goalkeepers (another shootout has just passed without us saving a pen) but those 2 were simply unsaveable. On another note, when are referees going to clamp down on goalkeepers being a yard or more off their line when saving penalties?
Trav Le Bleu Posted 5 August 2012 Posted 5 August 2012 It's a conspiracy by Royal Mail, who are dreading any GB team winning gold and the implications for their promise to paint a pillarbox gold in the home town of every GB gold medalist.
Manwell Pablo Posted 6 August 2012 Author Posted 6 August 2012 Not all that fussed, never really thought the players heart was in it - seemed more like a novelty experience for them. We were doomed when Sturridge stopped half-way through his run up and looked at exactly where he was going to place the ball. At least he had the balls to take it though which not all strikers do; and it was better than Ramsey's first 2 penalties. Unrealited - Does bug me how commentators go that was a great peno when if the goalkeeper had dived the oppostite way they'd be going that was a terrible peno. Simply because a good penalty is one that hits the back of the net.
Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 10 August 2012 Posted 10 August 2012 That was a crafty little goal for Korea!
Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 10 August 2012 Posted 10 August 2012 And again! Nice counter attack
21st Century Fox Posted 11 August 2012 Posted 11 August 2012 South Korean fans are f**king amazing! I've not sat near a more eccentric group of supporters ever. To the guy who came dressed in a full blown white cat mascots costume on a hot day, I tip my hat.
Guest shearfox Posted 11 August 2012 Posted 11 August 2012 Should have buried that header, what a miss...
Webbo Posted 11 August 2012 Posted 11 August 2012 Great win and up yours BBC, from the build up you wouldn't even have known Mejico were playing.
