FoxesAreBlue Posted 6 October 2012 Posted 6 October 2012 I'm missing the love from the 'running and stuff thread'. I think having a beer would be the last thing on my mind. I've got to leave for Tenerife at 2am Monday morning Hmmm I might not have crossed the finish by then so maybe not! I'm not jealous of Tenerife at all, and certainly hope that you your 4 hour flight delayed flight with cramping legs in about 3 square inches of space, screaming kids and overpriced p*ss poor vodka is as much a part of your wonderful holiday rather than just "getting there"
danny. Posted 7 October 2012 Posted 7 October 2012 I've done absolutely bugger all training for this. Going to be interesting!
Raj Posted 8 October 2012 Posted 8 October 2012 I've done absolutely bugger all training for this. Going to be interesting! painful I did a tempo run of 4miles in 32 mins and felt fine. If i cant beat my PB of 1hr 50 i will cry!!!
Webbo Posted 8 October 2012 Posted 8 October 2012 This comes through our estate, I often see the runners when I fetch my paper. If you see a slightly better looking Craig Levein lookalike with a copy of the Mail on Sunday give us a wave.

If you see a shaved headed skinny guy who is dying whilst wearing a diabetes uk t shirt with ANDY plastered on it - give us a powerade!

FoxesAreBlue Posted 11 October 2012 Posted 11 October 2012 Went to pick up my race number today (red 3105) and noticed the big chunky chip stuck to the back of it. Assuming that this should be on top of my shoe I ripped it off and only now I've just read its supposed to be bouncing around on the back of the number all day. Do you think I should go back and tell them of my error or just tie it to my shoe anyway?

Do you think I should go back and tell them of my error or just tie it to my shoe anyway? Must admit i NEARLY ripped it off! Im not too enthralled by the thought of having this bouncing up and down for 13 miles! If you've already ripped it off i'd try and tape it back where it was...P.S I always have the race no on my FRONT...you saying it should be on the BACK??? This year it seems abit of a farce having to go and pick the packs up from Town! We have already paid about £22!

I'm just gonna strap it to my show with cable ties like every other normal race out there. I too wear my numbers on the front! I meant having the chip bouncing around on the rear-side ofthe number would be a ballache, not the rear side of myself!! Did they post the numbers out before then? This is my first "Leicester"

This is my first "Leicester" Last few years they posted out the race numbers and chip about a week before the event. Good luck to everyone On Sun!!!
Bluefoxtim Posted 12 October 2012 Posted 12 October 2012 Carbo-loading tonight. Just had a curry Tomorrow: Porridge, Potatoes, Pasta.
SystonFox Posted 12 October 2012 Posted 12 October 2012 And me too. Add some chicken to it and save some for breakfast. Energy gels and bars stocked up on. Powerade ranked up too. Lets do this
danny. Posted 13 October 2012 Posted 13 October 2012 Good luck all who are doing this! Picked up my race number today and asked to switch the half but they just refused, so having to drop out
Bluefoxtim Posted 13 October 2012 Posted 13 October 2012 Eh? That's bullshit. Do the half. I was supposed to do the full a few years ago but just turned left for the half marathon route - fair few others did the same!
Bluefoxtim Posted 13 October 2012 Posted 13 October 2012 Anyone fancy the glory of getting me to £400!? Total online donations: £285.00 Total offline donations: £55.00 Total raised so far: £340.00 Total Gift Aid: £68.75 Total Charity Giving Fee: £10.97 Total donations: £397.78 £2.28 short! http://www.charitygi....uk/CABmarathon
foxesfan1989 Posted 13 October 2012 Author Posted 13 October 2012 Excited for this! Only doing the half, it's my first one. Just doing it for me really, so any time will do. 2:15 or below would avoid embarrassment however so that would be nice. That timing chip sure is in an odd place though...round the back of the number? Oh well...sure it wont slow me down too much! What is everyone doing today? What kind of foods? Anyone doing any running or just chilling out?
glenny_fox Posted 13 October 2012 Posted 13 October 2012 Doing the half tomorrow, so been carb loading past couple of days. My number is 2199
