Not sure if this has been suggested before but can we have the option to dislike or negative rep a post to go along with the positive rep option?

I feel the current positive only setup is dangerously one-sided.

A more balanced reputation system where quality of posts matters more than quantity and/or number of views.

Great example of the kind of post that would find itself being Negged and deservedly so. Introducing negs should eliminate at least some of these abusive and offensive posts.

We had this in the early incarnation of this version of FT - it led to nothing productive, only people being victimised.

Whilst this would obviously happen to you and it be water off a moose's tooth, it was quickly noted that some posters received endlessly negative rep points which although amusing for a short time might be framed as cyber bullying.

Not really what the forum owner wanted I would imagine.

Yes lets invite more negativity onto the forum, it is too happy go lucky at the moment.

I was on one forum where only mods had the power to "neg" to stop any accusations of cyber bullying, but to also alert people to when their posts are unsuitable.

Didn't want to start a whole new thread, so on the subject of reputation points, I keep seeing people going on about using up all their rep points. Is there a limit on the amount you can give in a day or something?

10,000 a week, you really have to go some, but it can be done.

People victimised??? It's a negative reputation on a forum. They would probably deserve it anyway if a post got massively negged.

I agree with Moose, bring back neg rep.
