Mike Oxlong Posted 22 January 2013 Posted 22 January 2013 Up for that, he'll get more meat than he bargained for. Are you and Moose going to treat Oz to a spit roast then?
Guest MattP Posted 22 January 2013 Posted 22 January 2013 Are you and Moose going to treat Oz to a spit roast then? Providing Ozleicester is up for it. (which i'm certain most of these veggie types are)
Finnegan Posted 23 January 2013 Posted 23 January 2013 Dare to venture to the right of Labour on here Cooling and you'll be slandered as a bigot or a racist. Don't worry about it, the word is banded around so freely and loosely nowadays it's lost any serious meaning. Woah there now, Matt. For a start I'm pretty sure you know that's ridiculous hyperbole. Nick can be a bit overzealous but besides him let's not make out that the forum is overrun with political correctness. Secondly, do you really want to be sitting there defending cooling of all people on the issue? When it comes to race politics he makes you look like Billy Bragg. Puts his foot in it at every turn. Given his age it may well be born of ignorance but the kid IS a bigot.
purpleronnie Posted 23 January 2013 Posted 23 January 2013 Behave, I agree it presents a problem and I'd like to see a pact but Cameron should pay for the lies he has spouted on Europe. I'm actually warming to seeing Labour in power again actually, would enjoy watching them try to govern and the keep the sort of people happy who vote for them while the country is in the financial mess it is in. Might finally get me up off my arse to move down under as well. Don't go matt, they have the same problems we do, just better weather.
The Doctor Posted 23 January 2013 Posted 23 January 2013 Nigel Farage is just what the country needs, fantastic patriotic man. I'm voting UKIP at the next election. Not a positive, patriotism is the last refuge of a scoundrel. UKIP are homophobic cunts, far right wankers who will send this country backwards.

The Doctor Posted 23 January 2013 Posted 23 January 2013 Wut Sorry, what didn't you get? Was it the point where they force people out of the party for supporting LGBT rights? Or was it the point of them being old-school tories, who were far right?

Given his age it may well be born of ignorance but the kid IS a bigot. I'm not gonna be too harsh on him, I've probably not seen all of his postings tbh but I'm not going to call someone a bigot on the strength of a few internet postings. Like you say he's a young guy as well, my politics were all over the place in my late teens and I think I flirted with every party going, he'll moderate with age like 90% of us do. It's not that pc anyone you are right, it was terrible for a time though and maybe a bit of that still sticks, a period of where anyone who dared spout anything remotely right was insulted, abused and made to feel intellectually inferior by a gang of internet bullies, grown men as well. I dread to think how it looked to lurkers. Thankfully those days appear to be over now. Don't go matt, they have the same problems we do, just better weather. I'm over there for a while in March so I'll get a feel for it. They seem happier though, probably is the sun.

The Doctor Posted 23 January 2013 Posted 23 January 2013 Not really, they are the far right. As for homophobic, they force people out of the party for supporting LGBT rights - seems pretty indicative of that.
Dr The Singh Posted 23 January 2013 Posted 23 January 2013 Not really, they are the far right. As for homophobic, they force people out of the party for supporting LGBT rights - seems pretty indicative of that. Your in the wrong thread, your needed on the Sikhs muslim grooming thread!!

I certainly dont think someone who questions a man who supports LGBT comes under that. I'm a believer in the Horse Shoe theory anyway when it comes to far left and right.

The two points aren't related - as for being far right: what makes you think they aren't? They're certainly the furthest right party in Britain.
Guest MattP Posted 23 January 2013 Posted 23 January 2013 The two points aren't related - as for being far right: what makes you think they aren't? They're certainly the furthest right party in Britain. I see a far right party as one that has the policies of the BNP. I'd say UKIP are right wing, Conservatives centre-right and BNP far-right.

The BNP aren't really right-wing, they're just horrifically authoritarian. Far from it: lib-dems (in their current orange-book guise) are the centre-right, Tories the right & UKIP the far right.
Guest MattP Posted 23 January 2013 Posted 23 January 2013 Your opinion I suppose. I can't have the Tories or UKIP as being further than right wing nowadays. I pray the Tories will edge closer towards their roots, but it won't happen while this 'compassionate conservatives' thing Cameron has going on is the rage.
FoxyPV Posted 23 January 2013 Posted 23 January 2013 UKIP are nowhere near the far right. The Tories are centre right (but verging on right at the fringes)

davieG Posted 5 March 2013 Author Posted 5 March 2013 Two CC Tories join UKIP Leicestershire County Councillor Rob Fraser has joined UKIP. Coun Fraser, who was first elected in 1991, had been a Conservative Councillor until September last year. Leicestershire County Councillor Rob Fraser He resigned from the Conservative Group and had been representing his constituents in Groby and Ratby as an Independent. When he resigned from the Tories last year, Coun Fraser said "they are in a mess and I do not wish to be a part of that". Coun Fraser’s decision follows former Leicestershire County Council deputy leader David Sprason who announced today he is quitting the Tories to join UKIP. Coun Sprason defected from the Conservative Party and is the councillor for Markfield, Desford and Thornton. Coun Fraser said: “I made a difficult choice, to leave a Party which I had represented in Leicestershire for over 20 years. I made that choice because it became apparent to me that the Conservative Party had forgotten the reasons why it was elected in the first place. “In contrast, I’m delighted to now be a member of a Party which values civil liberties and traditional moral values as much as I do, leaving me much better placed to represent the views of local residents in my division †Roger Helmer MEP, who joined UKIP from the Conservative Party just over a year ago, said: “I’m delighted that we now have two UKIP County Councillors in Leicestershire. Councillor Fraser is a natural campaigner who cares deeply about common sense, traditional values. He will be a huge asset to our Party and we will do all we can to ensure that he is re-elected in May as a UKIP County Councillor for Groby & Ratby.†Read more: http://www.thisisleicestershire.co.uk/Leicestershire-County-Councillor-Rob-Fraser-joins/story-18324974-detail/story.html#ixzz2Mgst6uC0 Follow us: @thisisleics on Twitter | thisisleicestershire on Facebook
Mike the Metal Ed Posted 5 March 2013 Posted 5 March 2013 He was a crap shopkeeper and is somehow a worse politician. He wanted to join the Lib Dems 6 months ago, he can't have changed his direction any quicker. Hopefully this'll cost him is seat next election, as even his former Tory colleagues on the parish council can't stand his attitude towards representing Ratby.
