Jon the Hat Posted 27 January 2013 Posted 27 January 2013 In Singapore having my lunchtime lager in an Aussie bar. Anybody been Singapore before? Recommend doing any specifically? Singapore sling in the long bar at Raffles!
AoWW Posted 27 January 2013 Posted 27 January 2013 Singapore sling in the long bar at Raffles! This, although your peanut cracking technique has to be spot on! Also, even if you're not particularly into gardens the botanic gardens are amazing. Try and get there very early in the morning to see them at their best. Do the night safari if you're bored and looking for things to do but, as expected, it is touristy. Go on the Singapore Flyer at dusk as the buildings start to get lit up. If you've got the time, try to get to the tiny island of Pulau Ubin - leafy and very traditional. It's got a marine nature reserve that's well worth a visit, but visitor numbers are restricted to protect the island. It's about a 15 min boat trip Changi Point ferry terminal.

I did have a Singapore sling, but on the bay front, cost me $30 aswell The botanic gardens were really special, the amount of work which must go into them is phenomenal, even had a look in the orchid gardens which was equally as amazing. Singapore flyer was good aswell! I do love this city, just wish I had more time and a hell of a lot more money. Now about to hop on a flight to Bali, anyone been there?

Wait.. did you follow us on our last Singapore trip this is almost a timetable of it Pulau Ubin was incredible, we (stupidly) walked across the island to the wetlands...incredible few Ks, wild pigs, and coconuts nearly hitting us as we walked, but soooo sweaty The night safari was fantastic..the new gardens are even more incredible than the botanic...(mind you they are awesome)...i would just change the singapore flyer, for a trip to the top of the hotel on the harbour, a stunning building and views in every direction. oh, i notice you didnt mention the "four floors of whores"...so perhaps you didnt follow us after all

Haha don't worry I'll probably be on the cheap beer with them, usually am. Ah ok, around Bali and the neighbouring islands for 20 or so days so should be enough time to check most things out. I've heard about the drink, ill just stick to the well known bottled beers probably. Really looking forward to heading to aus after

Carl the Llama Posted 8 February 2013 Posted 8 February 2013 Melbourne CBD, Pub, cheap beer and football on the telly When you say football, do you mean "football" or "kick the egg, catch the egg, and beat the shit out of each other on a pitch shaped like an egg"?
