Fraizer Campbell's holiday plans

I agree, he was a risky signing and has struggled with injuries - but there's no doubt that in his time with Hull in the Championship, he was scoring for fun.

He my not make the step up to the premiership that well (as his Prem career has hardly been stellar) but his record at this level certainly says a lot.

Yes, that one season would say that. Again, not fully proven and hardly banged in the goals since has he? I know you'll point to Wood and how he hasn't really been that prolific. But you'd have to look at the fact he's scored wherever he has gone and still has an unreal amount of potential being 21.

Anyway, away from the striker argument. It would be a real c*ck up for you guys to not be promoted. I have a feeling we will be pushing all the way. Now we have found a way to win ugly (well getting goals from nowhere aka Knockaert and Nugent vs Wolves and Nugent vs Middlesbrough shouldn't really be counted as ugly should it?), we should be able to be much more effective and clinical, as you have been all season despite not setting the league alight performance-wise SOME of the time.

I'll be honest, Cardiff look like a team perfectly put together to go up. They're set up well to be very, very difficult to beat in the Championship. I'm not convinced by them at the next level though. Sitting back and hitting teams on the break with the team they have will not wash in the Premiership; what Pearson and, to a lesser extent, Bruce are doing looks more sustainable upon promotion.

Well, he hasn't been back at this level since, so it's harsh to say he hasn't scored much since. As I already pointed out, he could be a yo-yo type player who struggles to make the ultimate step up, but there's no doubting that he CAN do it - if he stays injury free.

I'm not being critical of Wood at all, I said at the time it's a very shrewd deal by Leicester & I have no doubt that we will be the top two.

Fair. I wasn't saying you were criticising Wood, was just putting the facts out there.

Well I hope it ends up with us being top two. Long way to go, and as you'll know too well it can soon be bottled. However, the evidence of this season suggests Cardiff have the mentality not to bottle. At our place we absolutely slaughtered you for the first 35 mins, then the goal really shocked us and you defended very well indeed. That sort of mentality doesn't just go away.

And for us, we are finding that ruthless streak now this year, no matter whether we play well or not.

It's all very exciting though isn't it!

Very much so!

I don't buy all this Cardiff will bottle it nonsense, that mentality went out when Dave Jones was sacked. We certainly didnt bottle it last season, in fact we over-achieved! That squad was stitched together as a load of frees and loans and should never have got to a cup final and playoffs.

Malky's tactics aren't pretty/always good to watch, but they are hard working with a strong mentality.

In answer to someone's question of "Who's position would you rather be in?" I can comfortably say ours. While we may not be 10 points clear, our players would undoubtedly fare better in the premiership than yours. Why? Because history has shown that teams in the championship who play passing football do better in the premiership. Take Swansea for example. I also have confidence in our owners. The idea of selling our history for a few million and a chance of premiership football disgusts me.

really? im pretty sure west ham are fareing better than southampton and reading.

As for selling our souls, its a tiring argument... you will find very few cardiff fans have embraced the rebrand. Some have to a looser term "accepted" it. Our owner is a business man and a stubborn one at that... If he doesnt want to listen to fans then hes in a position where he doesnt have too.

Undoubtedly? I'd argue that, you've absolutely no proof and it's merely your opinion..

I'm actually dead against the rebrand of my beloved club & a one of the very few fans who have actively chased to show the club how the minority of fans feel (sadly, we are the minority now, because the owners scaremongers the fans into thinking it was red or dead)

There are plenty out there who would've gladly refused the money so that they could stay blue. I distinctly remember this idea being presented to the supporters, it being rejected by supporters and the owners actually dropping the notion due to substantial opposition. Quite appallingly, they then went through with the decision anyway after a waiting a month after that first rejection.

This link that says Cardiff fans opposed the colour change before investment came in!

"Cardiff City have said they will not proceed with proposals to change from blue shirts to red after "vociferous opposition" from the supporters."

So there you go, this idea that Cardiff fans want to have their cake and eat it too isn't entirely correct. Of course they'd love both but they showed before the changes were made that they'd prefer to be blue over taking the money.

What the owners did was to lie, mislead and cheat the fans. What the supporters did was to continue to attend games despite the changes made and the loss of identity that resulted from the changes.

Have the fans really betrayed their club by continuing to attend? No, not in my opinion - very difficult to stop supporting your team if you've been to every game since you were ten. Not pleasant to see your club lose some of their identity but they remain your club none the less.

Have the owners betrayed the fans by continuing with their plans despite blatant opposition? Yes, absolutely.

That clears that one up, does anyone want to come up with anymore cheapshot comments that side tracks from the actual topic of us deserving our established lead? Oh hang on, we shouldn't be in your league! Zzzzzzzz.

Do you really think you're Barcalona or something?!

Funny, you're never mentioned when it comes to playing "quality football" normally..

We're the best footballing side in this division I've seen this year, but it isn't an amazing division this year.

We're not quite on the same level as Swansea from a couple of years back.

We don't think we're Barcelona, I'd rather watch us play anyway as I find Barca boring

TBF I personally have not seen enough of Leicester to comment on their style of football...but from the feedback im getting, im surprised they've not written to the FA to shake up the point set up....demanding an introduction of 1/2 a point for flare!

I'm not going back over this thread and quoting/replying to every point since my last post, but I'd like to address a couple of issues:

1. Some Cardiff guy came to the conclusion, based on goals scored, that we must have been involved with more 0-0 bore draws than them, belying his not too stellar grasp of mathematics - probability and statistics in particular: Both teams have been in two this season.

2. The table doesn't lie: Cardiff are top by 10 points. That is what it tells us and only an idiot would try denying that fact. As much as it doesn't lie, nor does it tell the whole story of the season: It doesn't mention the refereeing mistakes that have cost teams points for instance (in the thread pertaining to this particular phenomenon it was put at about 10 points for us iirc - can't find it though, if someone could I'd be grateful). Some say these things balance themselves out over the course of the season, but I'm yet to see Leicester gain points on the back of the opposition not being awarded a clear handball or following one of our players getting away with a straight-red challenge (if someone wants to correct me, go ahead).

I will paraphrase something I said earlier in the thread: I'm not bitter because Cardiff are above us - I'm bitter that the team above us in no way look like a better team than we do. Silver lining: It fills me with confidence in our push for 2nd knowing that we're better than the league leaders.

Perfect summary.

I really find it truly amazing that cardiff fans are coming onto a Leicester City forum and then are suprised and for some reason offended that this forum as a biased opinion towards Leicester City !
