Legend_in_blue Posted 4 February 2013 Posted 4 February 2013 The bottom line is their style of football will see them nowhere next season. Our style of football on the other hand is far more likely to do us well next season and with even more additions to the squad we're in much better shape to make a go of it imo. Every time I watch Cardiff on TV they look ****.

Thing is we realise we don't need to play like that to get out of this league. As Claridge said we are a team that looks like we could step up a few gears if we need to.
Danizen Posted 4 February 2013 Posted 4 February 2013 There's every chance that at the end of the season we'll have dignity and promotion. You'll probably have promotion. I'd rather be second in blue than first in red.
FoxyPV Posted 4 February 2013 Posted 4 February 2013 It must be fashionable to hate Leicester. It must mean we're doing something right.

So in terms of playing in the top league, something has to give somewhere. You will fall flat on your faces.

Oxfordfox83 Posted 4 February 2013 Posted 4 February 2013 Its like trying to debate with a few potatoes. It's not really-we have a few who've fed a couple of trolls, but essentially this thread boils down to the following opinions: 1. You think you're deserving of first place. Most of us think first is fair because you have got points where we've let them slip, but that you've been lucky a lot. 2. We also prefer the way our football is played, and our club is run. By and large, you dislike the rebrand, and vaguely deny the scrapper style you employ, because you have 'a few more gears'. 3. We are absolutely fine about going up in second. 4. This was a Leicester thread about your new signing ruling out the play offs, which given that you had previous for bottling it was roundly mocked. Don't think many of us expect you to fail, but you're promotion rivals and we'd all quite like to see it. 5. Coming on a Leicester forum, equipped with at least one idiot, and claiming you were there on merit was only going to gain you two responses: re-trolling, and reasoned counter arguments (see 1 and 2). That's it really-we think you're not as good as us and you disagree. Somebody stop the presses!
Callabinho Posted 4 February 2013 Posted 4 February 2013 I think Cardiff are secretly worried about us, we are the only team who could potentially take advantage if they hit a rough patch, they have a very gifted team and are deservedly placed in first position. However we have all witnessed Cardiff's self implosions season after season, I don't think we are going to rely on that happening, but I think they are worried it might. I'd take second now if you offered it to me! All we need to bother about is our team!

I think its unfair to call the cardiff fans that have contributed to this thread trolls, Most of them have come on here with a level head and provided valid thoughts and opinions about both teams. 1) Thats fair and i think you will be hard pushed to find a Cardiff fan who denies that we have been lucky... what i would argue is that EVERY team has been lucky including yourselves that has helped you along picking up points this season. The other side is that you feel you've had bad refering decisions that has cost you again you'd be insane to think that this has not happened to every other team in the league including us. 2) This is where yours and many of the others argument breaks down. You are basing our style of football on counterattacking away games... Very few of you have seen us play at home bar the first game of the season but yet we are brandished as a hoofball team when we have some of the best attacking players in the league. 3) Who wouldnt be happy with second? Second would be a good achievement for any team in this league and Cardiff fans are under no illusions that the league is wrapped up and we can start celebrating. 4) His comment was lighthearted if you watch the interview. He never says hes booked his holidays he says he PLANS too and then chuckles. His comment was not one of arrogance more of a way of giving credit to the work his new team mates have already done over the course of this season and the determination within the squad to keep going and avoid slipping up. On a side note i think you are a good passing team but i think the best footballing side in this division has been palace and more recently watford.

BozzaCcfc Posted 4 February 2013 Posted 4 February 2013 more recently Watford? we've not lost his year and they have? So? We're 10 points clear but you seem to think you're a better footballing side than us so whats your point?

Palace were very good at our place but not a brilliant footballing side. They were very physical and scored from set pieces. Middlesbrough look a better footballing side than Palace. As for Watford, if you borrow the entire content of a top 6 Serie A side then i'd hope there would be serious progress over a number of months which they are finally showing.
Oxfordfox83 Posted 4 February 2013 Posted 4 February 2013 I think its unfair to call the cardiff fans that have contributed to this thread trolls, Most of them have come on here with a level head and provided valid thoughts and opinions about both teams. I didn't mean they were all trolls-only two really. Largely level headed, whose only error is understandably to be biased to ccfc. Argument wasn't that you were the only team that were lucky, but you have been luckier than most. Unquantifiable, only a matter of opinion, but such is a forum 2) This is where yours and many of the others argument breaks down. You are basing our style of football on counterattacking away games... Very few of you have seen us play at home bar the first game of the season but yet we are brandished as a hoofball team when we have some of the best attacking players in the league. Seen plenty of highlights which I know is skewed, but I can't think of a single game where I've looked at you as thought 'they look great, glad we're not playing them soon.' Whereas Palace, Watford, Blackpool at various times have looked excellent. Oh, as have we, a lot. 3) Who wouldnt be happy with second? Second would be a good achievement for any team in this league and Cardiff fans are under no illusions that the league is wrapped up and we can start celebrating. 4) His comment was lighthearted if you watch the interview. His comment was not one of arrogance more of a way of giving credit to the work his new team mates have already done over the course of this season and the determination within the squad to keep going and avoid slipping up. We know, and it was acknowledged that it was light-hearted by those who watched. The article put the spin on it, which we were mocking. I'd hope anyone we signed in your position would have said the same, but he's not one of ours, hence gentle, good-natured ribbing. On a side note i think you are a good passing team but i think the best footballing side in this division has been palace and more recently watford. By and large, Cardiff have been fine, and as long as you beat the teams around us then I hope you keep going. Palace have been great, but only in patches- we have been pretty much superb, a pre-Christmas blip aside.

I wasnt impressed with Middlesborough.... Peterborough looked a better ide than them at our place. Palace on both occasions against us moved it around nicely but looked tired towards the end whicch is gonna happen when you have no depth which is why i think they are now on the slide. I think the main thing thats kicked watford into gear is the fact that Zola now knows his best 11. Your last point is the one ill reply too. I do not think you have been superb ALL season.. i dont think any team has... Alot of teams have had their plaudits at some stage... earlier on in the season it was Brighton and Blackpool. Then Palace and Middlesborough. Now you and us are getting them all, You were a good team before christmas but i think wood is the piece of the puzzle which has made you a great Team. Not alot of your players impressed me at your place. Knocky was your standout but sometimes his decision making let him down but he looks a quality player. Nugent looked lively.. I wouldve liked to have seen more of Marshall.
Logie Posted 4 February 2013 Posted 4 February 2013 Cardiff fan here, first off, i want to see my team promoted and i honestly dont care how they do it after the BS of previous seasons. I dont care if we come first or second behind Leicester. Cardiff seem a solid if unspectacular team, where as Leicester, your not supprised if you see them win 5-2 for example. I rather Leicester go up then Hull or Boro, boring teams
Gkbluebird89 Posted 4 February 2013 Posted 4 February 2013 I thought Crystal Palace fans we're the most deluded in the division until I had a look on here Firstly the table doesn't lie you can't be 10 points clear and be "lucky". Your basing your opinions one 1 game at your place where you had a good spell in the first half and should have scored.Once we actually took the lead I can't remember you having a clear cut chance, especially in the second half marshall had hardly anything to do,hey we could have even made it 2 with a late chance.I don't judge a team to be "lucky" to be where they are based on 1 game. We have the best home record in the league losing only 1 game and drawing 1 game the rest are wins. We have comfortably beaten leeds (at home) ,wolves blackpool, burnley , middlesborough birmingham etc and if you we're watching we blew blackburn away at their place. Yes we have had some narrow away wins but your not going to look good and playing pretty every single week. You say we've had a wealth of money spent on our team and should win the league, yet I'm sure if you look at the facts in the last 2 years you've spent alot more than us so surley it should be you winning the league if you go by how much money we've spent! Ignorance is bliss when you don't want to admit we're the best team in the league
Zingari Posted 4 February 2013 Posted 4 February 2013 Does anyone have any idea when the last time both big Welsh teams were in the top flight ?
Leicester Piggott Posted 4 February 2013 Posted 4 February 2013 Does anyone have any idea when the last time both big Welsh teams were in the top flight ? It will occur 2013/2014 for the first time. And possibly last time.

Ignorance is bliss when you don't want to admit we're the best team in the league With all due respect, that was one of the most flattering scores I've seen for a long time. First half was relatively even, but Blackburn hammered you second half, missing an open goal, Marshall saving you and hitting the bar, but you caught them twice on the break. Hudson should have also been sent off for a pull back when he was the last man.

As for the hudson supposed sending off it wasn't even a foul let alone a red card. Looks like your more concerned over our form and our performances rather than concentrating on your own! wasn't exactly too convincing over wolves or middlesborough where you
ccfcmart Posted 4 February 2013 Posted 4 February 2013 Hi all Cardiff fan in peace. After reading this thread I've decided to make a one time post.I havent come on to compare the size of my knob with any foxes fans, that sort of thing goes on in every football forum in the country and I've never seen a point to it but Id like to address some of the points made in this thread. This particular thread has made its way to one of the cardiff forums which is how I've come accross it. 1.Football purists vs winning ugly A few foxes fans have made the point that their side is the best "footballing" side in the division and it may well be true and for the point of this arguement I accept what your saying, however,go back 2 or 3 seasons and that was a label we had but at the end of the day the pretty football just wasn't good enough.I watched that side destroy opposition on times my favourite one being the annihilation of Leeds on their own turf. But too many of the other sides worked us out and stifled us and took points of us when we felt we've been the far better footballing side.Sound familiar? 2.Credentials of the championship champions I remember when Newc came to us early in the season after they were relagated from the prem.We lost 1-0 and the 2 things I remember was feeling mugged and that Newc had all the luck(especially when Chopras goal bound effort was deflected by a defenders hand). The other thing that left an impression on me was that I couldn't remember when I'd last seen a side work so hard "off the ball".We had a QPR fan frequent our forum the year they were promoted, decent fella too,And even he admitted there were quite a few times his side were seemingly outplayed but always got the goal that turned a loss into a draw and a draw in an unlikely win. There is a pattern here lads.As you know both sides were promoted with Newc pissing it in the end so my question is to foxes fans is-do you think by being the prettiest side in the division guarantees promotion? The answer is no.It must be a combination of being able to play a bit and being able to "win ugly" when required. Many fans feel they have been mugged by us this season but without this ability promotion from this division is much harder as we have found out in the past.I must admit though its taken some time for us fans to get used to it as early in the season we had endless threads on our forum dissing Malky and his tactics. The rebrand I'll just touch on this as another poster from our forum has commented. His name is Alex on here but he known on our board as something else and is hardly a "Chuckle" He's amassed thousands of posts on there but very few to the point and his views only reprsent a very small minority of the fans.He omitted one important fact when he desc ribed how the city fans were lied to and there was no promise that was broken or promises that have been broken. The investors made their proposals-the initial response was some fans were up in arms, the very vocal ones, and they said OK if you want to keep the blue and the badge you can but that will be reflected in the investment. And heres the bit he ommited. The overwhelming majority of fans contacted the club in support of the rebrand.I'm not knocking Alex or his view but if I air all the difference of opinions on the rebrand on this forum then it would be the longest ever thread by a country mile.Typicaly his opinion represent less than 1 in 50 ccfc fans.

You blew Blackburn away so badly that you mustered a whole 4 shots on target, with each going in. No, hit the woodwork 3 times, 2 goals disallowed with one wrongly disallowed, with the penalty their one good chance is far from convincing. With regard to Wolves, if the referee had done his job properly the game would have been over in the first half.
