TaffontheMersey Posted 3 February 2013 Posted 3 February 2013 Another mark of a good team is when they are 10 points clear at the top of the league. Alex, I dont think he gets it mate.
Libertine Dream Posted 3 February 2013 Posted 3 February 2013 Feed the yak. You make some very valid points and also some very invalid points. The game at ur place seems to be the centre of most of your argument that cardiff arent a good team.. fair enough. I was there at your place and I will admit the first half all I was thinking was "its a matter of when not if they score". BUT .. as the game went on and 60 minutes rolled around my nerves eased. It seemed to me your team had run ojt of ideas and when knocky went off you became alot more predictable. That said a draw wouldnt of been a surprise on the balance of play lets not forget it was an outstretched leg that prevented gunnarson having a tap in on the break to make it 2-0. You have been lucky the last 2 games ive seen you play... boro missing a pen and wolves hitting the post.. which had those two incidences not happened then you would be 14 points adrift. Cardiff have been lucky this season in games but they have also ground out results due to working right up to the 90th and never giving up. Its that team ethos that sees us 10 points clear. Just a side point... as far as i can recall the only game on sky this year where we have been at home is huddersfield? we are a different team at home to away and play with alot more freedom. sorry for the mistakes typing this on a phone is hard. We were so lucky against Boro that we hit the woodwork 3 times and had 2 disallowed of which one should have counted. Wolves we rode our luck at the end but it should have been game over first half, 7 shots in the first 21 minutes I read after the game. That home game against Huddersfield, you got away with, they more than deserved a draw and had Novak been half decent they'd have won, I admit after that game I thought you'd be mid table but you've continued to grind out results in very much the same fashion. You don't have to be the best team in the division to go up, you're not too different to QPR the other year but as long as you're top two or play off winners it doesn't really matter. Next year will be more important and as it stands, of the current top 6, you're style would see you struggle the most in the Premier League but that can change during a summer
BozzaCcfc Posted 3 February 2013 Posted 3 February 2013 we've not lost by more than 1 goal all season, we are thrashing teams, in your last 6 games you have scraped 1-0 wins. Your wheels will come off sooner rather than later. You coming on here posting reflects your nervous about us and other teams like Watford and Hull. I can only speak for myself but its more down to SOME leicester fans thinking they are the only team in the league who deserve to win games while everyone else is luxky.

I'm not saying I disagree with you as such, but against Boro we had a goal disallowed wrongly for offside and clearly dominated the game. It would have been a travesty had Boro got a draw. You could also say we should have had a penalty against Wolves and they should have been down to 10 men, in a first half which we were in 2nd gear. Though performance-wise I don't think we could have had too many complaints if it had been a draw. Like I said though, I'm under no illusions, you're not a great footballing side IMO but you're not where you are on luck.
Deucalion Posted 3 February 2013 Posted 3 February 2013 Hull remind me of Plymouth and Bristol City. Two much smaller clubs bigging themselves up at our expense because they were finding themselves enjoying an uncharacteristic period in the sun. Plymouth have already returned from whence they came, Bristol City are soon to join them. It can't be long before Hull are again plying their trade in the lower leagues where they have spent the vast, vast majority of their history. On Cardiff, they are top and 10 points clear. So well done to them. Leicester are currently second and on good form. We have ripped teams apart this year but maybe more importantly, we have recently learned to scrape wins. Of course we are going to try to push Cardiff for 1st place. Whether we do it or not is in the lap of the footballing Gods. Let's just wait and see.
JonnyBoy Posted 3 February 2013 Posted 3 February 2013 I think your due for your afternoon medication as it is clear you suffer from some kind of deluding ailment fact is they Cardiff have won 20 games from 29 now to call this luck is blatant jealousy and sour grapes you can continue to dress this up on a biased opinion as much as you like to try and make yourself feel better but all you are doing is showing everybody here what and embarrassing, unsporting and undignified person you really are ,......ffs show a little dignity as I have only seen a handful of Leicester fans on here who can be regarded as decent, knowledgeable and unbiased as opposed to a majority of clueless , bitter, and devoid of any self respect people from the length and breadth of the Country,.....now run along and get your glass of water for your medication. were getting maulled by the tigers, maulled by the tigerrssssssssss.
Jaspa Posted 3 February 2013 Posted 3 February 2013 Cardiff have an embarressment of riches all throughout their squad, if they dont win the League theyd had to have gargantuan problems. Hull are right behind us but we are the better Team/Club/City and set of fans, Id be looking at Palace over them Just remember tho lads, we are in second and have started winning games we maybe couldnt, it would be lovely to see these billy big bollocks internet pussies silenced by a Waggy thunderbolt or two
xsnaggle Posted 3 February 2013 Posted 3 February 2013 Sorry to disppoint To Hull and Back but:- http://oxforddictionaries.com/definition/english/ought?q=ought I'm a Cardiff fan, but I do like things to be correct and clear.

Nervous, for the first season ever I feel a sense of composure. Im on here because I appreciate that you are 2nd and there are a a few on here who offer good debates. Cardiff have been every kind of team in this league over the last decade, high scorers, draw specialists, away winning specialists, home winning specialist, unable to get 3 points when losing a game specialists, players going out and getting pissed pissed 24 hours before the most important game in 50 years and then losing 3.0 at home specialists, losing form because of cup run success' specialists....WE.HAVE.DONE.IT.ALL We are the granddads of this league and let me tell you, points are all that matter and we have a business like team and management who clock in and clock out with points in the bag. I have a deep sense of calm, its actually a buzz.

I agree and Im sure every team in the league has fans that come away from the game with coulda ahoulda woulda stories...thats why we love the game its so unpredictable. You are a good side and i think signing wood was a masterclass when you did and he will be yhe reason that will push you up automatic. Me? im under no illusions cardiff arent up and i dont care if its first or second aslong as its not the playoffs again.

I have a deep sense of calm, its actually a buzz. Cardiff have done pretty much consistently well for many years now in this league, I get that. If Cardiff are promoted, who could really resent it? Although, if Leicester continue their current form and finish first, I will of course be delighted! All fans want their teams to do well and all fans are probably a bit short-sighted when it comes to their team. If you think about the Wolves game, Wolves fans see it as they played well, had some chances they should've scored and are hard done by not to have got something from the game. I think Leicester shoud've put that game to bed in the first half, should've had a penalty in the first half and were stopped playing by a physical and desperate Wolves side. What I don't get is when fans have no sense of perspective what so ever to temper their enthusiasm. Hull fans often seem like this. They seem to think that one (or was it two) seasons in the Premier League means that fans should bow down to them and start thinking about them like they are a big club. When I think of Hull, I still think of the dump that was Boothferry Park, a team which had never been in the top flight and a perennial also-ran club, It will take more than a couple of seasons in the top flight for me to change this opinion, no matter how much they gibber on about where they see themselves in the big scheme of things. A bit of perspective goes a long way.
ealingfox Posted 3 February 2013 Posted 3 February 2013 I don't think anyone actually believes Hull are a big club, even their own fans jump on other forums to spout their deluded rubbish in Key Stage 1 English because they know how small-time they are, its Little Man Syndrome init. No major trophies, ever. Says it all really. Small club. I'd put them at the level of say, Peterborough, Blackpool and Oldham.
Carl the Llama Posted 3 February 2013 Posted 3 February 2013 Would the Cardiff fans on here mind pointing us to the match (this season) where they actually played some decent, positive football? Every time I've watched them so far this season I've come away thinking "how did they jammy their way out of that one?" It seems to me that this season's Cardiff are the exception to the rule that the team with comfortably the most points must be so on merit. Just to clarify: I'm not saying that because I'm bitter that you're above us, in fact I'm bitter that you're above us despite me being able to say that.
Father Ted Posted 3 February 2013 Posted 3 February 2013 I'd love it if we finished 2nd ahead of Hull on goal difference. Remember, 'boring boring Leicester' and Pearson teams don't score many goals! Cardiff to do a Derby in the Prem is my shout.
larrylloyd Posted 3 February 2013 Posted 3 February 2013 Before Chris Wood arrived at Leicester City. You had November/December where you Won 4 Drew 4 Lost 4. NOT promotion form and you were sliding. Great signing, no argument, he has galvanised your season as it looked like slipping away from you. During the same period, Cardiff City Won 8 Drew 1 Lost three. THATSwhy Cardiff are top of this division. This myth about Leicester being the great goalscoring machine only started the day Chris Wood signed. Cardiff City already had their goalscoring striker, the box player...Nicky Maynard. But the poor lad got badly injured before he even got going. What did Cardiff do? The whole team chipped in, we were getting goals from all over the pitch. Up until a few weeks ago we were equal top scorers with Palace (not you!!) So please, check your facts lads! YES, over the last 6-8 weeks we have kind of dried up. The goals stopped coming, we were just about doing enough to win. Our defence has been second to none!! But now we have our 'box player'. We got Frazier Campbell and we all suspect he will have the same effect that Wood has had for Leicester. So if your expecting Cardiff City to come off the rails now?? I dont think so. The jigsaw is complete as far as our side is concerned. Teams will find themselves one or two goals behind and be forced to open up. Bellamy, Campbell, Noone, Smith, Helguson, Whittingham.... we have got goals in abundance. We just needed that feller to unlock defences. Campbell (like Wood) will prove to be the lad!! As for the original tone of this post? Calling Cardiff City arrogant.? Leicester need to turn the clock back twelve months because the arrogance coming from you lot was horrible. "We've got Sven" - "We will walk it" - oh dear!!! NO arrogance from Cardiff City. Just a steely determination not to lose, one game at a time. step by step. Malky Mackay has got a squad that will fight to their last breath for each other. No ego's, no bigheads, no big timers. Dont even THINK that Bellamy is a bighead. He's the most misunderstood player out there. But he's a gobby ****er when he sees summat he dont like and will ROAST players in training if they arent giving 100% - and they accept it, because even footballers wont argue with a feller who gives 110% and who needs dragging off the training pitch at time. We'll crack on quietly thank you .... But expect to see a few more goals now. Incidentally, our goals for column is exactly the same as yours. Expect that to change!! Good luck but dont be waiting on Cardiff City to blow up, it wont happen, not under this manager. I'm a City fan of 30 odd years and am as pessimistic as they come. But nah... I dont think you will catch us. November/December while you were busy being a 'better team' than us... we pulled nine points clear of you!!! Even now, January into February.. your on fire... and we've STILL nudged further ahead. I dont know if its rude or ignorant calling us 'rubbish'.... but its definitely wrong
ealingfox Posted 3 February 2013 Posted 3 February 2013 Then there's Cardiff. Fair play they're 10 points clear and that, as they'll be too quick to tell you. I guess being decent is a novelty for them, let them enjoy it. For me they're like the kid at school that everyone bullied, but then one day they come in with a brand new Game Boy or something so a few things start going for them. Bit puzzled as to why they bought the league and then proceeded to play awful football, but if it works, it works I suppose. One major trophy, in 1927, says it all really, small club. Not really too bothered about any club that has to sell out their entire history to make any progress. They can have a year in the Prem, let the baby have his bottle.

Even now, January into February.. your on fire... and we've STILL nudged further ahead. I dont know if its rude or ignorant calling us 'rubbish'.... but its definitely wrong One of my best mates is a Cardiff fan so, despite everything, I have a little bit of a soft spot for you (which is why I've seen more Cardiff games than most and feel qualified in my assertion that you're by and large a pretty jammy side) and I'm honestly very worried for you lads next season. It'll be a massive shock for you, not getting anywhere near the amount of let-offs that you're getting in this division (having your goal set up by a woeful 'clearance' yesterday being another good example of your uncanny fortune this season). I honestly expect to see you in and around the relegation spots next year if you continue performing as you are. As for your 20 wins that you like to bang on about - did you know that only 5 of those have been by more than a 1 goal margin? By contrast, 9 of our 16 wins have been by at least 2 goals, whereas we've failed to lose by more than 1 in each of our 8 defeats this season - hence our goal difference being the best in the league despite being a whopping 10 pts behind you. Wolves at home... blackpool at home (when everyone was tipping them for promotion) to name two off the top of my head. As expected you named matches from the 5 games where you managed more than a 1 goal deficit. Do you see my point now?
BozzaCcfc Posted 3 February 2013 Posted 3 February 2013 Then there's Cardiff. Fair play they're 10 points clear and that, as they'll be too quick to tell you. You are the kind of poater that has sparked off this thread. Alot of the posters on here strike me as quite level headed but leicester seem to have more who like to exaggerate. Just reading your match day threads and alot of your posters come out with "playoffs at best for us" and "pearson out" when you lose two or three. Its those same posters that are the ones who were saying "we are gonna storm this league as champions" after your 6-1 win over huddefsfield. No cardiff fan believes we set the league alight wth our performances. . we are just a team who work very hard and take every game at a time. It seems that whoever is above you in the table no matter who it is doesnt deserve to be there according to a contingent of your fans.
BozzaCcfc Posted 3 February 2013 Posted 3 February 2013 As expected you named matches from the 5 games where you managed more than a 1 goal deficit. Do you see my point now? Any game where you score more than one goal you are going to class as a good performance.By contrast I think our BEST performances have been boro and palace at home... both high pressure games. The difference between you and us is that along with our convincing performances we have "steady" ones which we will win... and am I right in saying that prior to january you did not have that in your locker.
Sven' Thai Bride Posted 3 February 2013 Posted 3 February 2013 Over the course of the season the best team wins the most matches and has the most amount of points, what you consider to be the 'best football' is subjective. I live in Swansea and have to put up with so many smug, arrogant c*nts that are Cardiff fans, so much so it's made me despise Cardiff as a club, it pains me everytime they win, but at this point in the season you can't argue, being 10 points clear, that they're not the best side in the league. Nobody's praying for a huge Cardiff **** up more than me, but I just can't see it happening this time.
