Electronic advertising boards

I think it would be beneficial if neither of you went down and watched us play at the KP.

You probably sit near me as there are always people moaning about this that and the other.

Feel sorry for you, I'd imagine it is your outlook in life to nit pick at everything then fail to enjoy life, then 20 years have passed and you turn into grumpy old men like the above posts.

If you don't like it, don't come. Didn't realise you had to or have been forced to come? Stay away IMO as personally we dont need negative people like you at our club

Beneficial to whom? What bollox...... :(

I go to the KP to support my club and watch the football. I an not a singer but I am vocal in my support, where do you get off criticising people when you have no idea who they are and what they do?

I may indeed sit near to you, there are plenty of the hard of thinking near to where I usually sit (or stand) in the stadium.....

I find the boards distracting and I don't like them for what i think are perfectly sensible reasons, just as I don't like goal music or many of our knuckledragging fans and other aspects of modern football listed in my post above.

But most of all I dislike sanctimonious p****s who seem to think that it is ok to slag off fellow City fans because they do not think like you, assuming you can call what goes on in your head thinking that is...... :dunno:

Sorry mods, I try hard not to get personal but that post really is the pits.......

Cannot believe this discussion is still going on. I really dont understand what the issue is. The boards have been toned down to an acceptable level, they bring in much needed revenue, and they make the stadium look modern. Im afraid the world has evolved into a place where money talks and its not just in football. Its no different from people buying sweets and popcorn at the cinema. People crunch sweets and rustle bags during the film and its slightly irritating . Cinemas arent going to stop selling it when theyre making a fortune on it. You wouldnt expect them to either. Its no different having boards at the KP that some people find annoying. Atleast the club have compromised with the fans and turned them down. Ultimately we need money to get promotion and improve our squad. We need money to sustain ourselves in the prem. If electronic advertisment boards contribute to that, then good. Its not rocket science. Anyone would think they are trying to change our name and our colours they way some of you are going on! You seriously need to get over it! It wont change the more you moan and the majority are now in favour.

Not to me it is not and to some others too.

What possible justification do you have for telling someone that they are acceptable. You have no idea what other people find acceptable or not, it is not for you to say....... :frusty:

You find it acceptable, others do not, simple as that....... :o

 Hang on a minute, thats rich. That is exactly what you have done in the 20ish posts youve made in this thread. Youve done nothing but moan about what a disgrace they are and tried to convince people that the are totally unacceptable. Whats your justification for telling someone they are unacceptable? The point Im making is that your persistant moaning about them wont change a sausage. So why bother?

Not quite. I have expressed my views, very firmly on occasion, but I hope I have been clear that they are my personal views and I do not claim to speak for anyone else.

Do I try and convert people to my views? Probably, but I do not attempt to speak for them, there is a difference......

I just get annoyed that when I say I really dislike the boards people tell me they are fine or to 'get over it'

To me they are not fine and I have tried to explain why I think that. You don't agree with me, thats fine, just don't try and speak for me or tell me to get over it, I'm not having it...... :o

If people don't like them, don't go, simple. No one particularly wants you here anyway.

Nice......

Mind you, you do sound like you are rather constipated....... :dunno:

There's no doubt, like all the little commercial annoyances of modern day football, they're here to stay, and the only way to be rid of all that is to either organise en masse and reclaim the game for the fans (not going to happen this side of the Channel) or to go and watch non-league football.

However, I was at Fulham v Stoke the other weekend, and I noticed they still had the old wooden ad boards on the front of the Riverside Stand, where the TV cameras are stationed, and as the whole point of these things is to ensure guaranteed time on camera for the sponsors, the ones on the front of the East Stand are redundant, so if people really do find them too annoying to even attend the game, a nice compromise would be to put that point to the club, and to sit in the Just the Ticket area of the ground if they agree to remove them.

From what I have seen there are no electronic boards in front of the East Stand, so I have a ticket in the West stand for Tuesday so I will see what it is like....... :fc:

Its good in the sense that in modern football turnover is of upmost importance and attending fans are no longer the sole concern. I know you dont want to hear that but thats the truth.

So you think because a minority of fans dont like them the club should throw them away and go back to the stone ages?

Would you be so keen if they made you pay for the losses on your season ticket?

Every club in the EPL has these, the big clubs in this division are starting to get these also, big clubs abroad have these. Its now part of football. Its not a new thing invented by lcfc.

The electronic advertising boards were very feint for the last match against Blackburn. They didn't affect my enjoyment of the match whatsoever. For those whose enjoyment was affected would they rather be sitting at home listening to the radio?

No I would rather have my season ticket money back.

They were not on any agenda when they took my season ticket money, if they had been there is no way would I have bought one and no way will I be renewing next season. Why did they not ask the fans if we minded having flashing moving advertising boards in our faces while trying to watch the game we paid for ? I think you know the answer to that.

Precisely flo'........

No arguing with it though, far too many people will just put up with it or simply don't care or notice.

As I have said elsewhere, yet another way 'modern football is rubbish' for me..... :P

you still tip toeing round the fact these boards are in grounds around the country and world and that they needed for vital revenue.

and been blunt I think the club are ok with you not renewing as the advertising boards make more money than your season ticket, thats just a fact of life. Do you attend away games and if yes how do you manage in those grounds with these boards?

If a strip of advertising boards running along the side of the stand, 2-3 metres from the pitch make you 'unable' to watch the game then I'd suggest you've got a bit of a problem. How do ANY of the Premier League Clubs' fans cope?

Simple they have no choice. I bet there is not one club with these hidious in your face distractions that asked or canvased the fans about their views on the matter. If they don't distract you they are not doing there job so why have them there in the first place?

Of course they distract you that is what they are designed for if you don't understand that simple concept then it is you who has " a bit of a problem " the word doormat springs to mind.

Guess you won't be renewing next season?

Good riddance

I much prefer the old advertising boards but the new ones aren't enough to stop me going. They were a bloody nightmare in the first couple of games but now they've been turned down they're not too bad. I understand if it stops other people going though, I'd imagine it's just the straw that broke the camel's back, as they say.

I don't see how the fans could've been consulted though, as the owners would've had to give the fans the in depth financial benefits that they would bring, which of course isn't going to happen. They probably just perceived it as keeping up with modern football, and thought that if it works at loads of other clubs then there's no reason we shouldn't do it.

If they do turn the brightness back up for Sky games (as I think I may have read) then that would be shocking of them.

What a tedious albeit validly held opinion. I suppose you would still be moaning if we won the Premiership with electronic advertising boards.
