marbelladave Posted 27 February 2013 Posted 27 February 2013 And anyone accepting this load of shite advertisment that is in your face when you have paid to watch football is laughable. Some of you mugs will put up with anything , just shrug your shoulders and try to convince yourself it's for the best, well it isn't. We really are just consumers these days, bollox I say..... If I do not like the service or product from a supplier I change my supplier (NPower, I'm looking at you!). Sadly there is only one Leicester City so I can not change, I can only go or not go. These advertising hoardings are just another reason that the football experience is being degraded, day on day. For some people the game is no longer worth the effort, I'm not at that point yet but it's getting closer.......
flowwolf Posted 27 February 2013 Posted 27 February 2013 I'm all for modern, but we seem to implement these things half-arsed. The King Power advert was so stuttery it was distracting, not to mention not aligned properly which pissed my graphic design eye right off! Shame they can't operate the video screens properly either. Last night they missed quite a few replays, went off altogether for a bit and the time was missing for a while as well. It's great we've got video screens, but please for the love of god move the time into the top left corner and put the score in the top right. Also, don't show the replays at stuttery slow motion, it makes it impossible to gauge how powerful a shot was. Sack the board! I suppose we have to make allowence for the level of intelligence of the emlpoyees at the club. It's probably organised by the same work experience cretin who thinks it's a great idea to blast shitty pop music inside and outside the ground to get us all worked up for the " matchday experience " the same moron who has decided that " familes" are the future for this club and goes down on one knee to suck the ever demanding knob of Sky television.
dannythefox Posted 27 February 2013 Posted 27 February 2013 I watched the football last night and not the advertisement boards, well done Lcfc for changing them there much better.
marbelladave Posted 27 February 2013 Posted 27 February 2013 I watched the football last night and not the advertisement boards, well done Lcfc for changing them there much better. Unusually for a football fan you appear to have reasonable powers of concentration...... Personally I find them unpleasantly distracting......
Babylon Posted 27 February 2013 Posted 27 February 2013 Personally I find them unpleasantly distracting...... I didn't last night, thought they were very different compared to last week.
flowwolf Posted 27 February 2013 Posted 27 February 2013 I watched the football last night and not the advertisement boards, well done Lcfc for changing them there much better. That's like sticking needles in you eyeballs and then thanking someone for not doing it so hard this time. Get real they are having your pants down please for gods sake, you have nothing to thank them for.
Burmesefox Posted 27 February 2013 Posted 27 February 2013 I think they are disgraceful in principle, just awful. If I had a choice I would go elsewhere, in much the same way as I avoid Irish 'themed' pubs. Sadly there is only one Leicester City........ I'm with you Marbs. Don't like them but then I also hate themed pubs, I have modern stadia, I hate modern football songs, I hate modern music (except Indie), I hate lager and love bitter, I hate the fact that bus drivers no longer call me "me duck", I hate the fact that an advert refers to a certain brand as AmaZON instead of AmaZUN, I hate chain coffee shops, I hate chain fast food outlets, I hate the word "movie" instead of "film", I hate music when a team scores instead of spontaneous celebration, I hate the fact that people send emails back and forth instead of picking up the phone, I hate the branding of everything, I hate the voucher society that makes people believe they are getting a bargain when in fact it is just marketeering, I hate that twat Martin Lewis (Mr money saving expert), but most of all I hate the ****ing Monarchy. They are not my Royal family; I never voted for them. Oh no, they are there to protect their own interests of wealth, capital, and land.

Sounds like a couple of advertising boards are the least of your problems then!
Larry_LCFC Posted 27 February 2013 Posted 27 February 2013 Laughable to a dimwit maybe, but people had a perfectly reasonable complaint which only a fool would belittle. Personally, I didn't call them a disgrace, so to lump all the complainants together is ridiculous. Obviously the club treated the complaints as valid because they made changes that on the whole did work. Any need for the childish name calling? Im not belittling the complaint that they were too bright. What I think is laughable is the fact that some people were immediately calling the club and the owners a disgrace and saying that they dont care about the fans etc without even giving them a chance to fix the problem. The boards were brand spanking new, people told them they were dazzling, and subsequently they changed in time for the next match. That to me shows that they do care about what the fans think and that calling the club a disgrace etc was unfounded. Just my opinion - no need to get so defensive.
Burmesefox Posted 27 February 2013 Posted 27 February 2013 Sounds like a couple of advertising boards are the least of your problems then! - he makes me look sane...
marbelladave Posted 27 February 2013 Posted 27 February 2013 Sounds like a couple of advertising boards are the least of your problems then! Quite right, that is a bit over the top....... However I do find them distracting, rather annoying in fact. I guess it is subjective but it is the movement rather than the brightness that bothers me. Having paid to watch the game I think it is a liberty, taking the piss in fact. I'm with Flowwolf on this one, not something I expect to say very often..........

Burmesefox Posted 27 February 2013 Posted 27 February 2013 Apart from all the money its generating for the club... maybe, but it is indicative of the fact that fans are an almost annoyance. We can no longer expect to see ourselves as the clients as the TV rights and advertising is what the club are interested in not the fans that pay to watch.

We're just there to provide the atmosphere for the tv fan, oh hang on that can't be right, atmosphere at the KP.
Vlad the Fox Posted 27 February 2013 Posted 27 February 2013 How times have changed. I can remember the new scoreboard putting about 4000 on the gate at Filbo on its first night. The goal flashes were great.

The King Power advert was so stuttery it was distracting, not to mention not aligned properlywhich pissed my graphic design eye right off! For two seasons now my OCD has been at boiling point with the new frieze around the ground. The section above each goal has 'Leicester City Football Club' slightly off centre. I see this every time I get to my seat and don't like it one bit. Why wasn't it centred?

They were well over the top last week and last night they were fine because they've toned them down loads. Hardly having my pants down you idiot.

Also the Leicester logos are too big, they need breathing space between the top and bottom. If I owned the club, we'd be bloody awful and go out of business within a year, but I guarantee that everything would be neat and tidy in the stadium and the video screens wouldn't look like a child operates them. That would be my legacy.

The boards were less annoying last night, would like to know why none are facing the west stand, do those in boxes not want to know how amazing Thailand is? Still reckon Id have a unelected person who doesnt mess around with stuff they know nothing about. I hate politicians all of them elected or non elected they are all self serving pricks. The Labour party are the biggest pricks as they act under the pretence that they want to help the working class and guliable people believe them! Do they balls they couldnt give a toss! Milliband, Balls, Cooper and Harmen a rich arrogant tits. At least the Tories lay their cards on the table, they hate everyone except the rich!

promised land Posted 27 February 2013 Posted 27 February 2013 They don't face the West stand as the boards are there for one reason and one reason only. TV cameras catching what is on them and seeing as the cameras are at the back of the East stand there will never be any along that touch line. I have noticed they are starting to use them in the Champs league now as well, all games in that used to have the same advert in the same spot at every ground, plus they were larger than standard boards resulting in netting over the first few rows of the stands. They could also put up the words to whatever song is being sung at that time on the screens with a bouncing ball going over the words, sort of karaoke to help those who don't know the words. They could even do this on the advertising boards!

promised land Posted 27 February 2013 Posted 27 February 2013 I really hate that. I never knew why they did it on the first few rows until a few months ago. That is why most Champions league games have slightly lower attendances than a league game at the same ground. All for the sponsors adverts, but I suppose that money out weighs the thousand or so ticket sales lost. Have you also noticed clubs have to cover up whatever is written on the dug out seats as well, that competition is as water tight as Formula 1 regarding rights to sponsors and adverts.

The section above each goal has 'Leicester City Football Club' slightly off centre. I see this every time I get to my seat and don't like it one bit. Why wasn't it centred? Damn you both,it's been AGES since I last noticed that..now I'm going to HAVE to look again next game..I think it's probably done for the angle aspect..in the same way with hinges on a door. As for the electronic advertising,it had been toned down a LOT from the prevous game,no doubt about it.Didn't bother me at all and only really glanced at them before the game and at half time. Finally,I'm sure whoever positions the advertising has a sense of humour..there's an advert..and I'm sure there's only one, above the away section..the advert for "Smeg"..childish I know, but if it was put there on purpose, then whoever is responsible..I owe you a beer.
Bayfox Posted 27 February 2013 Posted 27 February 2013 Don't really care if we have then or not. If the club gets extra cash from them fine. But having been blinded the other night and posted as such. Last night was much better. Although wisper it, i hardly noticed them. Bad news for people paying to advertise.
