Boyd over two left feet Dyer all day long.

But what would Boyd give us that we don't already have? Pearson just chooses not to use Gallagher. Knockaert is not dissimilar but twice the player already that Boyd will ever be.

He's a flat-track bully. Take one look at his goalscoring record over the past 3 years and try to argue otherwise.

Chris Wood is pretty decent.

But because we've signed him, someone else who we didn't sign would be better.

Simple enough - Boyd isn't good enough for a promotion chasing team, nor would it be worth spending 1m on him to then sell him this summer because he won't hack it in the prem.

If people were so desperate for us to sign Boyd then we really aren't as ambitious as I thought. He's decent yes but some people rave about him and he's no better than decent

I said we should sign Boyd in the pre-season.

I think he's a talented player at this level and scores goals.

Boyd is very creative but lacks work rate. I'm not sure if he played just behind the striker yesterday or in midfield with Koren. Both similar sorts of players in many respects.
