norscot fox Posted 2 March 2013 Posted 2 March 2013 why were we not in running sign George Boyd always been good at championship level just think our lack strengh in midfield & wide areas will cost us play offs think top 2 now out of reach
marko Posted 2 March 2013 Posted 2 March 2013 Because we have better and this isn't some Football Manager game on the computer where you buy anyone and everyone.
alanf0x Posted 2 March 2013 Posted 2 March 2013 Because we have better and this isn't some Football Manager game on the computer where you buy anyone and everyone. Really? He is better than gally, wellens, vardy, waghorn and dyer for a start...
norscot fox Posted 2 March 2013 Author Posted 2 March 2013 Football manager got nothing to do with it he always been someone that has performed at this level with players we have could been good for him and the club would rather have Boyd than Dyer who is one game ten man form wise
Spiritwalker Posted 2 March 2013 Posted 2 March 2013 When the Posh chairman said another club with much better promotion chances than Forest were interested in taking Boyd I honestly thought it would be us.
lcfcsnow Posted 2 March 2013 Posted 2 March 2013 A Pearson side only allows for one creative player, and he'll come off after an hour most matches due to a lack of impact in Pearsons rigid formation.
marko Posted 2 March 2013 Posted 2 March 2013 Yeah, I believe Knockaert is better and him and Marshall are about on par - as their stats suggest. Boyd really isn't this wonderful player that opposing fans seem to think he is. I know quite a few Posh fans have said he was their version of Andy King, with him going missing for large periods of the game and doesn't do much against the better sides.
Jaspa Posted 2 March 2013 Posted 2 March 2013 I certainly dont think we lack 'strengh', I have no idea what it is As for Boyd, we havent got him cause we didnt want him; we have more commitments and differant recruitment criteria than Forest, add the fact he would basically be another Gally for us
Guest ttfn Posted 2 March 2013 Posted 2 March 2013 Boyd is barely average. He's a brutal flat track bully.
Munshi Posted 2 March 2013 Posted 2 March 2013 Do we really need a new thread after every little thing?
LCFC FOX Posted 2 March 2013 Posted 2 March 2013 Do we really need a new thread after every little thing? Is gonna be alright! Don't worry about a thing!
Lambert09 Posted 2 March 2013 Posted 2 March 2013 He would have been a great signing. Especially at that fee.
Munshi Posted 2 March 2013 Posted 2 March 2013 This is all because we didn't make Van Aanholt's loan deal permanent
Fox92 Posted 2 March 2013 Posted 2 March 2013 Always rated him but I don't think he would fit into our style/formation. Boyd is a technically gifted, creative midfielder and we already have two of those in Knockaert and Marshall. Can't see where Boyd would fit in with us playing two strikers as well.
AKCJ Posted 2 March 2013 Posted 2 March 2013 He would have been a great signing. Especially at that fee. 1m when he's out of contract in 4 months? Not that special, and neither is he.
chris_lcfc_85 Posted 2 March 2013 Posted 2 March 2013 Not bothered we didnt get him, he's decent in fairness but nothing more. Plenty of better players
Bayfox Posted 2 March 2013 Posted 2 March 2013 Because we have gally and boyd is just a left footed version.
Ely fox Posted 2 March 2013 Posted 2 March 2013 Cos Pearson doesnt rate him clearly ... hes better than anything we got in midfield apart from knockart imo .. should have tried to get him in there
