Bayfox Posted 25 March 2013 Posted 25 March 2013 Teams too young! pressure will be too much! It is about planning for next season and adding experience to the squad! To help make us bigger, better and stronger for next season! Whilst everyone else in football stands still and does nothing. Leaving us with a huge advantage?
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 25 March 2013 Posted 25 March 2013 How can we start planning for next season when we dont even know if goal king Beckford will be playing for us? sorted
ratherbedeadthanred Posted 26 March 2013 Author Posted 26 March 2013 we may aswell just surrender, we are a sinking ship, we'll beat millwall and everyone will be like 'yh werez all th pearson h8ers now !!' point is, we've won 1 in 9 and we are gash
Guest Col city fan Posted 26 March 2013 Posted 26 March 2013 It seems like Adkins is off to Reading. Bit torn about that personally. Nige is the current manager of course but I do think Adkins is a very good manager and would have 'fit' City really well. Fingers crossed Pearson and the boys can now really kick on and do the business.

Bob Weasel Fox Posted 28 March 2013 Posted 28 March 2013 One automatic promotion spot taken next season then Joking aside your probably right
artursteppe Posted 28 March 2013 Posted 28 March 2013 Planning for next season:- If we are in the Prem - Sack Pearson. If we are in the Championship - Sack Pearson.
deanolegend1989 Posted 29 March 2013 Posted 29 March 2013 Planning for next season:- If we are in the Prem - Sack Pearson. If we are in the Championship - Sack Pearson. If we are in the Prem - Keep Pearson. If we are in the CCC(having lost in the playoffs) - Keep Pearson. If we fall away and end up out the playoffs - Replace Pearson at the end of the season PROVIDING we have someone lined up whoes actually MORE capable than Pearson.

We perhaps would of had that this season with Nigel Adkins if we had of struck while the iron was hot

deanolegend1989 Posted 29 March 2013 Posted 29 March 2013 We perhaps would of had that this season with Nigel Adkins if we had of struck while the iron was hot Possibly but just because a manager gets a club promoted doesnt mean hes anything more than an average manager. Look at Adrian Botheroyd, whats he done since he got Watford up?

Look at Adrian Botheroyd, whats he done since he got Watford up? Good point although he was a long ball bandit and vastly over rated whereas I think Adkins gets his teams playing proper football and wins a fair amount of them to boot
Happy Fox Posted 29 March 2013 Posted 29 March 2013 If we are in the Prem - Keep Pearson. If we are in the CCC(having lost in the playoffs) - Don't keep NP If we fall away and end up out the playoffs - Replace Pearson at the end of the season PROVIDING we have someone lined up whoes actually MORE capable than Pearson.
deanolegend1989 Posted 29 March 2013 Posted 29 March 2013 Good point although he was a long ball bandit and vastly over rated whereas I think Adkins gets his teams playing proper football and wins a fair amount of them to boot Southampton do play good football but dont you think thats to do with young players they have produced such as Lallana. Plus with Lambert they had a player far too good for the CCC. Dont get me wrong, I do rate Adkins but it would of been a gamble and I do think Pearson on the whole has been a top manager for us. Its one of those 'be careful what you wish for' situations with Pearson I believe.
Crinklyfox Posted 29 March 2013 Posted 29 March 2013 This thread started with the question - who do you want? (ins and outs) and since then has been all about NP. How about the players? When City went up to the top flight under MON he was able to keep a number of key players (Walsh, Izzet, Lennon, Parker, Heskey to name a few). How many of the current squad do you think could keep their place in the Premiership? Buying a complete new team was tried by QPR without much success.

How many of the current squad do you think could keep their place in the Premiership? Buying a complete new team was tried by QPR without much success. Its been discussed before but most people seemed to think that there were 3 or 4 players who were capable of making the grade whilst a lot of the other players have shown at times this season that they have the ability but just need to show it on a more consistent basis. Big advantage for us is that we have a very young squad (somebody the other day said that it was the youngest average age in the football league), so these players COULD be do it. All ifs and maybes but either way i'd still look to bring in at least another 5 established prem players or players with more experience if we went up. If we stay in this division then I reckon only a couple of older heads are needed to push us up to the level needed for promotion next season.
Tielemans63 Posted 29 March 2013 Posted 29 March 2013 We need a replacement for Vardy. This kid looks like he could be a marked improvement...........
dmayne7 Posted 29 March 2013 Posted 29 March 2013 We need a replacement for Vardy. This kid looks like he could be a marked improvement........... It was like one of those really long, drawn out jokes on family guy. You want it to end but the longer it goes on, the funnier it becomes. Oh, and this is probably factually correct!
indierich06 Posted 29 March 2013 Posted 29 March 2013 We perhaps would of had that this season with Nigel Adkins if we had of struck while the iron was hot You make it sound like we were the natural choice rather than Reading? What if we sacked Pearson and Adkins decided to join the Royals anyway? We'd be right up shit creek.
