Chris Wood backs Nigel Pearson

Recommended Posts

Surely puts to bed the rumours that they don't get on.

Striker Chris Wood is backing his manager Nigel Pearson to mastermind Leicester's path to promotion.

The Foxes sit seventh in the Championship table, just a point behind Bolton after a four-game unbeaten run.

Wood's nine-game goalless spell coincided with the promotion contenders falling out of the top six, but after finding the net in his last two outings, Wood is now in confident mood and fully behind his boss.

Wood said: "He's a great manager.

"He does the business. We just need to make sure we do the business."

"He gets his teams set up right and gets everything prepared well. We just have to go out there and execute it because Nigel gives us all the tools to do it."

Normally players comments are bollocks just saying what the press/fans want to hear, but there's more positivity in them than simply backing the manager.

Everything is setup for the players to do the business, they just need to do it.... and if the improved form we've seen in our 3 draws & a win had been shown a few games sooner the situation for the playoffs wouldn't be so desperate.

Wood is a a very wooden interviewee even by footballers standards. This doesn't bother me in the slightest as I only care about what he does on the pitch, but trying to read anything into his comments is pointless because they're going to be regurgitated classroom platitudes and nothing else

Of course Chris Wood backs Pearson. If you don't not only are you out of the squad you are palmed off to pastures new within the week. Look at SSL. Can't have any dissent in the ranks can we?

Looks even better if you say it to the media.

Cynical? Moi?

Yeah, why would a manager loan out an unfit, generally rubbish player who's hardly had a game all season unless there was some kind of fallout? CONSPIRACY.

SSL apparently fell out with Pearson in December 2011. He was moved out on loan in March 2013, having played a decent amount of games when fit in between.

Hardly the same week, is it?
