DennisNedry Posted 4 May 2013 Posted 4 May 2013 Recorded this film recently and just watched it, wondered if anybody else here has and what they thought of it? I think it was a great film, depicting some of the horrible scum that live in the worst council blocks well with some excellent acting. It had us all really behind Harry. Love a bit of vigilante justice!
MooseBreath Posted 4 May 2013 Posted 4 May 2013 T'was a bit 'wooden' if you ask me. And the 'demograpic' depiction of those estates was wholly incorrect. But it seemed ok to me. A fine movie. A solid 6.8/10.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 4 May 2013 Posted 4 May 2013 seen it loads of times, very much like Gran Torino (Clint Eastwood film) but this is the Enlgish version. Good film
Vacamion Posted 4 May 2013 Posted 4 May 2013 Mr Caine is a legend. End of. I think one of the best bits of dialogue was: "Oi, Plan B, stop chucking those bladdy spears" But I can't be sure.
Kitchandro Posted 4 May 2013 Posted 4 May 2013 Just watched it. It was good, I won't remember it for a long time but it was a good way to fill the void between basking in the glorious football results and Match Of The Day.
SystonFox Posted 5 May 2013 Posted 5 May 2013 Not seen it. Love gran Torino though as someone on the thread previously mentioned
Raw Dykes Posted 5 May 2013 Posted 5 May 2013 I enjoyed it a lot. If you haven't seen them already, give Get Carter and Gran Torino a watch. Great revenge films. I only saw Taken fairly recently - another good one. One of my favourites is Dead Man's Shoes by Shane Meadows (This is England). Anyone else seen that?
Cruss5 Posted 5 May 2013 Posted 5 May 2013 I like Dead Mans Shoes as well. A budget film with Paddy Considine. Watched a documentary on Harry Brown and Michael Caine said he wanted it to be local with local actors and wanted to highlight the problems but over elaborate on it. Whether its a bit wooden and not the best acting, i enjoyed it and would watch it again
