City Fan Posted 31 July 2005 Posted 31 July 2005 Alright... but what if this situation comes up: A person has been top of the Premier League in all months except the last where he gets relegated. He then (most likely) becomes the Championship winner whereas he IMO clearly deserves to be Premier League champion.I think it's a good idea, but I would like it if everyone's total would be posted as well (next to the league table or something) to determine who was effectively the best predictor during the season. 147204 Request granted.
stulcfc Posted 31 July 2005 Posted 31 July 2005 the new first opposition Goalscorer is what i dont like but other than that i still think its good
shen Posted 31 July 2005 Posted 31 July 2005 Request granted. 147235 Thank you Maybe we should have a predictor of the month competition as well, where the best predictor each month gets it?...Just an idea...
City Fan Posted 31 July 2005 Posted 31 July 2005 What does everyone think to this new suggestion me and C-man have thought of? : If someone predicts 0-0, and it is 0-0, they only really predict the correct match outcome, and correct scoreline. Presently, they would get those points, the points for the correct scorers, and all the bonus points, so would end up with 11 which is too much for really only predicting the score. If things stay as they are, people will constantly predict 0-0 every game just so that they get loads of points when it does happen. Therefore, we suggest that if you predict a 0-0 outcome, and it is 0-0, you only get the points for the correct outcome, and correct scoreline, so only getting 3 points overall. What do you think to this idea? And over the next day or two, we will be creating a thread which will be locked which will include the final rules and we may also put the updated tables in there as well.

It sounds to me like it's getting far too complicated.
City Fan Posted 31 July 2005 Posted 31 July 2005 Ah yeah never thought of that. If you predict a team to have a 'nil' score (For example, 1-0), you will get a point for the correct scorer. And if you predict 0-0, and it is 0-0, you will get points for the correct scorers, but no bonus points. How about that?

I think you and C-Man are running it, you decide the rules and sod those that don't like them. But remember it's your job to make them workable and fair - Big responsibility this isn't it
Random Burglar Posted 1 August 2005 Posted 1 August 2005 So how about we have 2 winners come end of the season? The winner with the highest score and winner at top of prem...just to keep those 2 happy

filbertway Posted 1 August 2005 Posted 1 August 2005 I think these rules are too compicated really, just keep em simple . Why not have one big league?
C-man Posted 1 August 2005 Author Posted 1 August 2005 Sweet this sounds very good, and i'm in the premier league 146318 I think these rules are too compicated really, just keep em simple .Why not have one big league? 147909 make your mind up We decided to change it to make it a bit more fun, besides, you'll get the hang of it anyway
filbertway Posted 1 August 2005 Posted 1 August 2005 The way the leagues are done though, it is actually possible for someone in league 2 all the way through to get more points than someone who has been in the premier league all the way through. Which can't be right surley?

It is more likely that members of the premier league at the end will take both Premiership title and the overall scorer title
filbertway Posted 3 August 2005 Posted 3 August 2005 Just predict a score for the sheff united match and you automatically join.
Little Nicky Posted 4 August 2005 Posted 4 August 2005 Hey guys, I had completely forgetten Sheff had dropped the running of this comp! I am looking forward to you 2 guys hosting it! Some of the rules seem a little hard to get used to, but I'll learn, and I might have to start doing my homework on opposition players, I don't really specialise in knowing many of em . By the way I'm no longer True Blue Matt - so if ya could change me to Delboy so I can predict away that'd be marvellous , Cheers boys!
john_lcfc Posted 4 August 2005 Posted 4 August 2005 How do you join? 149168 hey join the foxestalk prediction league table http://www.foxestalk.co.uk/predictionleague/
