blueblood88 Posted 21 May 2013 Posted 21 May 2013 Has anyone seen this? The whole city of Moore has been wiped out. Looks like the end of the world, 91 dead, 20 of which are children
Parafox Posted 21 May 2013 Posted 21 May 2013 I saw it on TV earlier. Terrible natural disater. Still not such as big a loss of life as the factory collapse in India which was a man-made disaster.
MC Prussian Posted 21 May 2013 Posted 21 May 2013 My heartfelt condolences. I've seen the pictures earlier today and the devastation was immense, the tragedy reflecting in the people's faces really hit me. Maximum speed of up to 320 kilometres per hour, with a diameter of roughly 2 kilometres...
ManorFox Posted 21 May 2013 Posted 21 May 2013 It looked horrific, truly devastating. Is there a reason why they appear to build houses out of wood panels in Tornado Alley?
okie fox Posted 21 May 2013 Posted 21 May 2013 It looked horrific, truly devastating. Is there a reason why they appear to build houses out of wood panels in Tornado Alley? Thankfully my family OK. American house construction is shoddy.
blueblood88 Posted 21 May 2013 Author Posted 21 May 2013 Thankfully my family OK. American house construction is shoddy. Was thinking that while watching the news, surely, if you live in an area called 'tornado alley', the buildings would have steel reinforcements. Good to hear you're all safe, thats the most important thing.
ManorFox Posted 21 May 2013 Posted 21 May 2013 Thankfully my family OK. American house construction is shoddy. Glad your family are okay. Just strikes me as odd that they would build in that way, they have the Three Little Pigs story in the States.
glenny_fox Posted 21 May 2013 Posted 21 May 2013 http://news.sky.com/story/1093711/tornado-survivor-finds-dog-during-tv-interview So nice to see a positive story around all the horrible things that are happening in Oklahoma.
Parafox Posted 21 May 2013 Posted 21 May 2013 So nice to see a positive story around all the horrible things that are happening in Oklahoma. Wasn't that bad. I quite liked the music. Particularly "Surrey With a Fringe on Top"
MPH Posted 21 May 2013 Posted 21 May 2013 It looked horrific, truly devastating. Is there a reason why they appear to build houses out of wood panels in Tornado Alley? Cost. Wood in the US is very cheap in comparison as there is just so much of it.
Rincewind Posted 21 May 2013 Posted 21 May 2013 Well if your house is going to be severely damaged, it's easier to rebuild with wood.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 21 May 2013 Posted 21 May 2013 http://news.sky.com/story/1093711/tornado-survivor-finds-dog-during-tv-interview So nice to see a positive story around all the horrible things that are happening in Oklahoma. Aww that poor dog! Though how funny/bad would it have been had she killed it as she dropped that scrap metal back onto its head?!
Haydos Posted 21 May 2013 Posted 21 May 2013 Pretty chilling pic. Another horrifying story and another thing I can't even begin to imagine being a part of.
MooseBreath Posted 21 May 2013 Posted 21 May 2013 I saw it on TV earlier. Terrible natural disater. Still not such as big a loss of life as the factory collapse in India which was a man-made disaster. India, Bangladesh, what's the difference? All that matters is that humans are bad yeah.
FoxesAreBlue Posted 21 May 2013 Posted 21 May 2013 http://news.sky.com/story/1093711/tornado-survivor-finds-dog-during-tv-interview So nice to see a positive story around all the horrible things that are happening in Oklahoma. That bought a tear to my eye that did
Webbo Posted 25 May 2013 Posted 25 May 2013 I'm just waiting for Steven to post a blog saying the CIA caused it.
