I usually play a long term save with Leicester, I don't start with any of the big teams. But every single player has always been terrible. I'm in 2020 on this save and not even a hint of a decent player. I've improved youth recruitment netwrok, youth coaches, youth facilities (Now excellent or top), everything that I can do. My youth intake has never shown any indication of improving despite spending millions on it. I don't expect superstars every year but it would be nice to get the occasional player that isn't downright awful. On FM 13 I'm in 2055/6 with Leicester. We've won the lot in my time there, but nobody has come through the youth system in the entire 43 years I've been manager to make more than 20 appearances. The highest star rating I have seen from anybody for at least 30 years is 2.5, and that's with the absolute top amounts invested for all the youth settings.

Got to about the same year and nothing again. Just ended up buying loads of 15/16 year olds as usual. I don't know why it's the case.

Defence is a weak link though and I've got Celtic away next. Dan Posted 20 January 2014 Posted 20 January 2014 I'm second and I'm not happy. Can see us ****ing promotion and it's not on at all considering we've got the best squad by a distance. Why do things just stop working? Why were we absolutely hammering everyone and now we're struggling to win two on the spin? Hernandez sums up our season. 15 in his first 10. He's now on 22 from 31. 7 goals in 21 games and he's meant to be my main attacker.

Beliall Posted 20 January 2014 Posted 20 January 2014 im quite bad at it too, what formation are you playing? usually a small change can make a big difference, for example 4-1DM-2-2-1 (with wide players) becomes 4-1DM-4-1 (just pull the wingers back to rm/lm and have a balanced approach.

I was half considering a 3-1-4-2 so I've still got my midfield two, and don't have to play my full-backs who are pretty shit. I drew 3-3 with Reggina. I actually looked at their team after and it's not on, they shouldn't be leaving Palermo with anything other than a whipping. No excuses for this.
