newbie123 Posted 1 September 2013 Posted 1 September 2013 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rHtEV9vpSIQ shame the camera man cannot follow the ball or we could see it clearer, looks worse than it did at the game. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f617KpffEDg
Fox92 Posted 1 September 2013 Posted 1 September 2013 It sums up the referee that the ball clearly hit the post, everyone could see it, and he gave a corner. Good save Kasper although I think he may have done better for the goals anyway.
theessexfox Posted 1 September 2013 Posted 1 September 2013 Shame he wasn't so convincing from corners.
Lettsy Posted 1 September 2013 Posted 1 September 2013 Shame he wasn't so convincing from corners. He was abismal for the second goal. Clueless with crosses. Great shotstopper but cant catch.
theessexfox Posted 1 September 2013 Posted 1 September 2013 He was abismal for the second goal. Clueless with crosses. Great shotstopper but cant catch. Awful for the first, too. Someone cannot have a free header in his six yard box.
Foxhateram Posted 1 September 2013 Posted 1 September 2013 Don't see how corners are the keepers fault. At Leeds he caught everything but as you can see from the highlights a player is standing on him in both incidents. This is actually against the rules of the game, not that the ref was aware of that obviously. Secondly the second goal he is absolutely clattered. We had no height in defence today and paid for it. As much as I'm not keen on hoofbread, you have to admit he wins his headers, and we missed him yesterday.
theessexfox Posted 1 September 2013 Posted 1 September 2013 The corners are the keepers fault as one of the attributes of a good keeper is being able to command his area, or AT LEAST his six yard box. Kasper did neither yesterday and never does.

Kasper did neither yesterday and never does. My first comment after the Birmingham game was how well Kasper commanded his area, think you're being overly harsh as there's only so much a keeper can do in those situations. Look at Joe Hart against Cardiff, even the best keepers struggle with crosses. If a keeper can claim or punch a cross then great, but the onus should be on the defenders to stay with their man and get the ball away.
theessexfox Posted 1 September 2013 Posted 1 September 2013 I wouldn't put Joe Hart up there with the 'best keepers' as he too cannot command his box. The six yard box should be Kaspers, full stop.

The Doctor Posted 1 September 2013 Posted 1 September 2013 He was abismal for the second goal. Clueless with crosses. Great shotstopper but cant catch. Getting cunted in the face probably had something to do with that no? Bit hard to come out and take the ball when someone twats you in the face for doing so.
volpeazzurro Posted 1 September 2013 Posted 1 September 2013 Schmeical is not far off being a superb keeper but lets himself down badly imo. Great shot stopper, but the really great save yesterday only really came about because he hadn't, yet again, dealt with an initial cross in. The defence must be having eggs when a corner is given as Schmeical is of little or no use. More disappointing is that the coaching staff appear not to be addressing the issue. Surely the player himself knows it's a weakness? It looks good to some when he appears to be ordering the defence about and shouting for the cause but to me its just a stage act, he should start to look at himself a bit more closely!
Freeman's Wharfer Posted 1 September 2013 Posted 1 September 2013 So nice to have such a top quality keeper in goal and I think people have forgotten the days of Douglas, Henderson and 5 loanees in our League One season. Kasper wins and saves points, certainly more than he loses. Yes he could be better at crosses but someone has to be on the end of it if he doesn't get there and too often with us it's a opposition player. Where are the blue shirts clearing up anything he misses?

Where are the blue shirts clearing up anything he misses? I think thats one of the points 'he doesn't miss it' because he doesn't even move off his line to attempt to get it in the first place. Someone needs to remind him perhaps that he's not a centre half, he can actually use his hands. A little harsh I know but he's been doing it for so long now you'd think someone would mention it. Probably why he's not already playing for a Premiership team (Hull excluded). Are there many Premiership goalkeepers, if any, that you think their teams would swop for Caspar?
