Good idea.

You never know what's around the corner in football and all the precautions you can put in place for the good of the club should be.

This thread is about as interesting as the Aldi one with everyone getting excited over bogroll & beans then.

And yet you add nothing to either, you can start a thread if youve an exciting topic you want to talk about.

I think you'll find my worldly wisdom is available for free (don't forget I'm giving you ALL THIS for free) in the Aldi thread.

Tbh I often feel like I deserve compensation for taking the time to read some of your insights.

Can somebody explain to me exactly what this does?

If i have read it correctly, if the Thais decide to sell the stadium, there is a 6 month moratorium on the sale. After the 6 months have elapsed they are under no obligation to sell to a third party who may bid more or less than the original bidder ie a supporter backed bidder or trust. It also doesn't seem to explain how the asset is viewed legally if the club were sold with the stadium as part of the package. I am not dissing it, i just don't understand the value of it?

???

Noted.

Perhaps in the future I'll move to a small monthly subscription based system.

i am seeing Dougie P on Friday in SF. Do you want me to say hello?

Don't understand/ see the point in this either. I thought I got it at first, but I don't see how it stops a Wimbledon/ Cov scenario, so I must be missing something.

Surely if the owners decided they wanted to move out of the city, they won't be bothered if they sell the stadium to Foxes Trust, Tigers, Jelson Homes or whoever :dunno:

If this protects us from being moved out of the city then yes it's probably worth the hassle (even though that is very unlikely). If it prevents them from building a new stadium round the corner in 20 years then why bother. We could have done with this being done 15 years ago when we had one we liked tbf.

If nothing else, it gives us 6 months to get our shit together.

Makes the club harder to sell too ...... personally i think anything that gets in the way of a simple transaction is bad news.

Yep as is the situation with Chelsea and the Pitch Owners, Roman can't move the club without their agreement to his plans as the land around the pitch is worth a lot less without the actual bit in the middle.

Some may see that as a good thing, however, what if one day he just decides **** it i'm building a new ground and selling the land around to developers, they are left with a Park in effect.

All this does is mean, the stadium needs to be a stadium, meaning a sale must be for lock stock and barrel, ok fine. But it doesn't stop a Franchise style deal, it just means we have an empty stadium with no team to play in it. Let's be fair modern day buildings aren't built to last and I bet many moons ago people never foresaw us leaving Filbert St. But if the day comes that Filbert Way is not fit for purpose then why would you want any part of it.

Thinking not everyone trust's our owners.

Wouldn't say it's a question of trust but you have to expect one to certainly be wary at  least of football owners connected to consortiums when you have seen what has happened to some clubs.

Not to mention the evidence we have seen presented of them being sold in backstreet bars in Thailand appearing to anyone and everyone.

Title is a bit ambitious. Fans will have a say in as much as they can say they want the sale delayed by a few months, but they can't prevent a sale. Any owner can still do what they want. We're lucky to have owners with good intentions at present. Only hope they stick around.
