I just laugh in the face of the identi-wan ker nobs all wearing the same crappy clothes paying £10+ to get in to sh it clubs in Maidstone. Just enjoy mate and see where the night takes you. Lansdown is okay as a starting point but is often full of students who think they are 'it' - believe me, that was me once, and probably still would be me if I was up there. If you want a boogie you need to head down more central a bit later on. Or just hook up with Maybes, he's an animal.

But not so much rock. There used to be a place called Rack n Roll, it was bizarre. Snooker club with some fairly hard rock and metal rooms? That was in Leicester, right?

ajthefox Posted 15 July 2011 Posted 15 July 2011 If you like your rock and live music I'd suggest Firebug. Not a club but it has live acts upstairs sometimes and is more of a rock kinda place, no need to worry about trendy meat-heads.

Baught Lisa Lashes a vodka and coke in there in the early 00s before my Rock days
