Soar Fox Posted 13 September 2013 Posted 13 September 2013 I know the lad who got stabbed, done a bit of football coaching with him. Lovely bloke and leaves behind a young child.
Filberts Treat Posted 13 September 2013 Posted 13 September 2013 Can't post it on here for obvious reasons but sure it will be out soon.Understand totally
The Year Of The Fox Posted 14 September 2013 Author Posted 14 September 2013 Wonder if the club will have a minutes silence today
WhatsHisName Posted 14 September 2013 Posted 14 September 2013 ~The father is supposed to be Surgeon, so like many others, I have been wondering why his family would live in a terrace house in Spinney Hills.
WhatsHisName Posted 14 September 2013 Posted 14 September 2013 , I have been wondering why his family would live in a terrace house in Spinney Hills. I meant to say I have wondered why the family of a doctor would live in a terraced house in spinney hills
Strokes Posted 14 September 2013 Posted 14 September 2013 This seems to be making national news, surprise there's so few replies in here.Yes you would think the thread would be red hot.
Dylan Posted 14 September 2013 Posted 14 September 2013 From what I've HEARD, a revenge attack, the right house, but wrong people.... apparently the person/s who were meant to be targeted moved out of that house, and the new family who moved in were innocent and suffered the consequences unfortunately... very unlucky and tragic if true. And I said the same thing as an earlier comment, why would a family with a surgeon be living in that part of Leicester?! Apparently the father didn't want his kids to lose touch with their roots (religion basically)- that's more speculation though.

He wanted his kids to have an Islamic education so naturally Leicester is the place to come.Guy who was killed in the street attack used to play for Highfields, was a nice fella from the people I've spoke to.
SystonFox Posted 14 September 2013 Posted 14 September 2013 Yes you would think the thread would be red hot. Dick
WhatsHisName Posted 14 September 2013 Posted 14 September 2013 He wanted his kids to have an Islamic education so naturally Leicester is the place to come. No that's not right, London or Bradford is where he would go, but as a doctor on a high income, he would not go to Spinney Hill in Leicester. Not unless he wasn't a real doctor but an alternative doctor.
WhatsHisName Posted 14 September 2013 Posted 14 September 2013 I've just seen the father on the news. He is a religious man, an I can see how Spinney Hill is a place he would like to think. He thanked the police and the people of Leicester for their support.
Rincewind Posted 14 September 2013 Posted 14 September 2013 Maybe there were other relatives in the area,
SystonFox Posted 14 September 2013 Posted 14 September 2013 Lighten up There's having a laugh and a pun and I'm afraid doing it over 4 recent deaths of innocent people in the city isn't the one. If you think it's acceptable then you're a complete melt.
Libertine Dream Posted 14 September 2013 Posted 14 September 2013 Still baffles me that a neurosurgeon who must get paid a penny or two if he is willing to travel from Dublin to Leicester regularly would live in that kind of house in that area. It's more Hindu in Leicester so I'd have thought the education reason would make him more suited to other areas of the UK but even if it was that, he could find somewhere better in Leicester and still get that education. Still it's a tragic story, from the murder on Kent Street to the fire at a house where it seems the occupants were mistakenly identified. I'd hope it was an inter-community dispute because the last thing Leicester would need is for racial tensions to escalate, well that and more immigration.
Raj Posted 15 September 2013 Posted 15 September 2013 Why all the shite about where he lives? Just cos you may have ££$$$ dont mean you have to live in a 4 bed detatched in Oadby.
Rincewind Posted 15 September 2013 Posted 15 September 2013 Why all the shite about where he lives? Just cos you may have ££$$$ dont mean you have to live in a 4 bed detatched in Oadby. Exactly. He may have relatives close by. He is near his place of worship. He does not want to live in an area where he may be looked down upon. He likes the neighbourhood. Not a snob.
Jimothy Posted 15 September 2013 Posted 15 September 2013 Exactly. He may have relatives close by. He is near his place of worship. He does not want to live in an area where he may be looked down upon. He likes the neighbourhood. Not a snob. Could even be as simple as he didn't want a mortgage, and he had enough to buy that house outright.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 15 September 2013 Author Posted 15 September 2013 Could even be as simple as he didn't want a mortgage, and he had enough to buy that house outright. Exactly. My parents had a big house and everyone assumed they were loaded. Far from it.
MooseBreath Posted 15 September 2013 Posted 15 September 2013 Probably everything to do with the proximity to other Muslims and making his wife and kids feel at home.
Raj Posted 15 September 2013 Posted 15 September 2013 "The family moved to Leicester from Ireland a few years ago to allow the children to visit the Jame'ah Uloomul Qur'an – a Muslim school attached to the mosque" Leicester Mercury
