The Year Of The Fox Posted 13 September 2013 Posted 13 September 2013 http://m.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-24076858 Terrible. RIP
Guest MattP Posted 13 September 2013 Posted 13 September 2013 Just watched this on the news, seemed to be implying its connected to a murder in the centre last night as well. Not good.
Jaspa Posted 13 September 2013 Posted 13 September 2013 I live within a mile of there, not heard anything locally yet but this is horrific Hope this Friday the 13th doesnt rack up any more deaths, RIP
separator Posted 13 September 2013 Posted 13 September 2013 Just been confirmed that its now a murder investigation. Police believe the victims are a women & 3 teenagers http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-24076859
Alf Bentley Posted 13 September 2013 Posted 13 September 2013 The clear implication on the BBC lunchtime news was: a) It was suspected murder by arson of a woman and 3 teenagers, aged 15-19 b) Police are actively investigating a potential link to the fatal stabbing of a man in his 20s elsewhere in Leicester yesterday (though some suggestion that it might have been a misdirected revenge attack) c) The family killed in the house fire seem to have been Muslim and the man of the house was "away working" - no indication of the race/religion of the bloke who was stabbed It's bad enough that this has happened, regardless of the cause, but I seriously hope there's no racial angle to this (Muslim/white, Muslim/Sikh, whatever). Tragic as it is, it would be better if it was just some feud between individuals that went much too far. The last thing we need is for racial or religious tensions to get ratcheted up.

Over 90% of the people living in the area where that happened, are muslims so I doubt religion had anything to do with this

Won't be whites getting involved between Kent Street and Spinney Hill. Wouldn't rule out Sikh/Muslim or Black/Muslim after what's gone on recently but I think some sort of internal community dispute is more likely. I really hope this isn't connected to the rumours and info that's been going around from some coppers about what's been happening in St Matthews with the Somalis.
WhatsHisName Posted 13 September 2013 Posted 13 September 2013 Leicester Fire: Police Probe 'Revenge Murders'http://news.sky.com/story/1141112/leicester-fire-police-probe-revenge-murders This is mad, a lady and her three children were killed

According to the BBC the father in this houshold is a doctor, working in Dublin at the moment. Family only recently moved to Leicester. If this is some sort of revenge attack then maybe its a case of mistaken identity, just my first impression anyway.
Finnegan Posted 13 September 2013 Posted 13 September 2013 This seems to be making national news, surprise there's so few replies in here.
ADK Posted 13 September 2013 Posted 13 September 2013 This seems to be making national news, surprise there's so few replies in here. Well, I'm not sure what we are supposed to say. Wonder if they had working smoke alarms.
Webbo Posted 13 September 2013 Posted 13 September 2013 I was talking to a fireman who attended this today. Pretty awful apparently, wouldn't want to see what he saw.
Guest MattP Posted 13 September 2013 Posted 13 September 2013 This seems to be making national news, surprise there's so few replies in here. I thought the same. I've had a text from a friend in Hong Kong asking if it's near me.
00rawat Posted 13 September 2013 Posted 13 September 2013 Why do people think its ok to take some ones life?regardless of faith race etc the only one who has that power is GOD and no else.they can rot ln hell, also some else got stabbed on kent st he is also died.Just what has the world come to?Everyone killing people like its a joke.RIP to both family and the man.
Rincewind Posted 13 September 2013 Posted 13 September 2013 It's on now. I'm not too far from Kent Street. Think it's off Maidstone Road. Not sure where Wood Hill is. There are a couple of steep roads in that area between S Highfields and spinney Hill. Can't see a reason for either killing. The one stabbed was a member of a football team and as someone said a doctor and his family lived in Wood Hill. Hardly the sort to go out looking for trouble I would think.
LestaFox92 Posted 13 September 2013 Posted 13 September 2013 Guy who got stabbed was black went school with him wasn't a dick head either from what i remember so the media are wrong or these lot just went looking for blood.

What's been happening with the Somalis then? Spill the beans!
Vacamion Posted 13 September 2013 Posted 13 September 2013 For those of us who moved away from the city, hearing the radio announce that "a family has died in Leicester" really makes the blood run cold. Terribly sad.
Guest MattP Posted 13 September 2013 Posted 13 September 2013 What's been happening with the Somalis then? Spill the beans! Can't post it on here for obvious reasons but sure it will be out soon.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 13 September 2013 Posted 13 September 2013 This seems to be making national news, surprise there's so few replies in here. Maybe people are waiting until more facts are disclosed so that we can have a rational discusion about this? No, wait...

I don't know how to tell you this, but it's/"he's" a myth Besides if...sorry IF (Big if there for you) there is a 'God' I understand people have to die because the world would be a very overpopulated place, but why would 'he' make these bad people? all the illnesses in the world? Why would he have the power to make people die in this way? 'He's' a right bastard that 'god' bloke. Anyway, RIP, Sounds bad this does.
Rincewind Posted 13 September 2013 Posted 13 September 2013 There will be rumours and there will be those that say 'maybe' because the rumours match their own train of thought but will rarely ever admit it.

The thread is about a family dying in a fire and you're trying to score points about whether God exists?

Well thats down beliefs really. In what is it a myth God brought everybody to life and takes eveyone life.We dont just die because the world is overpopulated I believe in the after life heaven and hell.We are not just in world just to make money and thats it doing the same the thing year in year out.whats the point in that ?illnesses is never nice but a much peacful way of dieing.God likes to test humans I have an illness but dont blame god for it.I pray to him and ask him to make it better, again a test to were my faith in God is at.
Matt Posted 13 September 2013 Posted 13 September 2013 Any need? The thread is about a family dying in a fire and you're trying to score points about whether God exists? Apologies, but religion winds me up. My belief is it is the root of all evil. I'll leave it at that, apologies once again and to reiterate, RIP.
