WhatsHisName Posted 15 September 2013 Posted 15 September 2013 "The family moved to Leicester from Ireland a few years ago to allow the children to visit the Jame'ah Uloomul Qur'an – a Muslim school attached to the mosque" Leicester Mercury Very odd.
MooseBreath Posted 15 September 2013 Posted 15 September 2013 It isn't odd at all. I have whatshisname down as a suspect given his apparent desire to make this family sound a bit strange
WhatsHisName Posted 15 September 2013 Posted 15 September 2013 Why? That is a street and area, where there is high levels of unemployment, the educations levels are low, many live off benefits, are iiny council; houses,so why would a well paid doctor want to live there ? Even those who live there move away if they can afford to do so.
Finnegan Posted 15 September 2013 Posted 15 September 2013 Ex-council houses, technically. They're all private houses on that street.
Rincewind Posted 15 September 2013 Posted 15 September 2013 I think some people are baffled because they are not Muslim. I don't think Muslims will be baffled.
Jimothy Posted 15 September 2013 Posted 15 September 2013 There was a lad on the bench for Arsenal yesterday with the last name Akpom, same as the ex Nirvana player who was stabbed in Kent Street, and I wondered if they were related. Apparently they were cousins.

Merging Cultures Posted 20 September 2013 Posted 20 September 2013 Just catching up with the news on the Merc. What's going on? Gang related? Some sort of 'honour' killings and revenge attacks? Sad to see this happening in Leicester. I can understand why the Dr would want his family living there. I am sure he felt he belonged in that community and was giving them an opportunity to learn Islam.
Guest MattP Posted 20 September 2013 Posted 20 September 2013 Very bad feeling I know one of the people charged in this.
Guest Bilo Posted 20 September 2013 Posted 20 September 2013 Not sure whether this should go in this thread or in 'Absolute cvnts of our time.' http://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/Father-charged-160-change-Ryanair-flight-learning/story-19824567-detail/story.html

Strokes Posted 21 September 2013 Posted 21 September 2013 Not sure whether this should go in this thread or in 'Absolute cvnts of our time.' http://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/Father-charged-160-change-Ryanair-flight-learning/story-19824567-detail/story.html Tough one really, buisness is business, funeral directors florests etc all make money out of tragedys. It probably doesn't help that Ryan air are just cúnts anyway.
FoxesAreBlue Posted 21 September 2013 Posted 21 September 2013 Tbh it's a non-story (again). A worker at the desk who is probably at the bottom of the chain and who has neither the authority or the balls to make the decision to allow this chap the change his flight for free has followed the usual company policy. We all know what we get from Ryanair. You're arse on a seat for cheap. Anything more and you're paying for it, regardless of the circumstances. Whoever checked him in could never have authorised a "free" flight. I hate Ryanair with a passion, but fair play to the hierarchy in their ivory tower for eventually refunding the fella because this is an exceptional circumstance. If they hadn't then I'd be right on the "cvnt" bandwagon.
Mr.X Posted 4 October 2013 Posted 4 October 2013 Another person was charged with the death of the football coach. and since this person is from Wood Hill, the fire that killed the doctors family could have been some insane revenge attack! http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/crime/second-man-charged-with-murder-of-leicester-football-coach-antoin-akpom-8852918.html Insane that poor doctor lost his wife and children because of some savages
kingfox Posted 4 October 2013 Posted 4 October 2013 If it's the same person, I know one of the people who's been charged with that fire. One of my best mates at Junior School.
