Standers in N block ejected, Banned and cancelled season tickets

Recommended Posts

The article now says the following.

It has become apparent that a noticeable number of ‘non-family groups’ and adults purchasing single match tickets have been using the areas between P1 and P3.

To further ensure that supporters in the Family Stand (P1 to P3) are being given the best-possible matchday experience, the Club will also be introducing the following measures:

If the crackdown is exclusively between P1 and P3, a cursory glance should tell you that N1 would be exempted from it.

I stand by what I said earlier, don't stand in areas where people are largely seated. The back of N1 is a very different animal to the middle of P2, standing there is just silly.

This does seem a waste of stewarding time though. A local derby and near sell-out should keep the stewards busy enough without indulging this power trip. Perhaps if match day tickets were sensibly priced, the Family Stand wouldn't sell out with people chancing their luck in the cheapest part of the ground. The club ought really to realise that their pricing policy is a key factor in this situation, and that so long as nobody is ruining anybody else's day by standing and singing When You're Tired and Weary on Row B in front of six-year-olds, they should be let alone.

Club seem to be cracking down on this a bit by the looks of things.....

As part of its on-going commitment to enhance the matchday experience of supporters, Leicester City Football Club will be carrying out ticket sale audits in the Family Stand.

The Club is keen to encourage more families to attend matches at King Power Stadium with the promise of a safe and fun, family-friendly environment that is enjoyable for all the family at an affordable price.

The Family Stand is clearly central to that focus, and to maintain that integrity, adult supporters are not permitted to purchase a ticket in that area of the stadium without an accompanying concession.

It has become apparent that a noticeable number of ‘non-family groups’ and adults purchasing single match tickets have been using these areas.

With that in mind and in the interest of fairness for all supporters, adults sitting in the Family Stand without and Under-18 as part of their party will need to relocate to another section of the stadium.

To further ensure that supporters in the Family Stand are being given the best-possible matchday experience, the Club will also be introducing the following measures:

-Tickets for the Family Stand will no longer be available to purchase online, and supporters wishing to sit in these sections must call the Sales Centre on 0844 815 500 or visit the City Fanstore at King Power Stadium.

- Spot-checks will be conducted throughout King Power Stadium and upon entry on matchdays to ensure supporters are entering the stadium using the correct tickets. Supporters are advised to bring proof of age in case a Club Official approaches them.

- If supporters are unable to provide a proof of age that supports their concession ticket, they will be required to upgrade to a full adult ticket and relocate to another area of the ground if appropriate.

The purpose of these measures are to ensure that family groups continue to have access to an enjoyable matchday experience at King Power Stadium, and persistent offenders in these areas will face the possibility of ejection from the stadium.

Anyone know if this has been edited from first being posted??

That tells me they're accepting the fact people in N1 will stand and are not branding that bit the 'family area'. If so, good on the club.

It's equally possible that N will get a game's grace and be 'dealt with' when the stewards don't have a 30,000 crowd at a local derby to keep them busy.

Off the subject a bit, or should I say heated debate, but is the family stand in the best place at present, not for any other reason than is behind a goal the safest place to put young kids, I have lost count of the amount of times kids have been hurt by being hit by a ball, normally during the prematch warm up.

It's why Waghorn had to go!!!!
