Agree with this.My son is 6 and tiny.We sit in the family stand at the back on the aisle. At the Huddersfield game, a load of blokes stood in the aisle at the back armed with bottles of singha. But they stood going 4 rows down. I don't expect good language at the ground but their language was as bad as mine on a night out and worse. . Every obscenity you can imagine constantly including what they would do to player's mothers. I was in fact asking them to move when Vardy scored so we both missed that. They did apologise and moved back but kept drifting forwards meaning I repeatedly had to ask them to move and the more they drunk the less the cared. My son couldnt see the goal or half the pitch. I agree with safe standing in the right areas but not the family stand. Nb they had a token kid with them but moreso groups of people are borrowing a kid to get the cheap tickets in the fs. Whoops not sure why my quote turned into 2 posts

Sorry what block was this in? I didn't see anything in N Block like this at all on Saturday. I don't agree what has happened here did you inform any stewards?

I think that one thing will be very probable.

IF SS is introduced in some way, shape or form, it will take one, just one, adverse incident and the whole pack of cards will come tumbling down immediately.

It will be on the front page of newspapers and everyone will jump straight on the bandwagon.

I think the relevant authorities know this, which is why it's taking so much campaigning, debate and time before it happens.

I'm surprised they could drink through the game anywhere in the ground, CCTV normally picks that up and the stewards deal with it. Hopefully this is an isolated incident and I hope you let the club know the details through fanzone. Which block was this in? Was it even anywhere near N1?

The people I know in the family stand have not noticed any increase in rowdiness since the N1 standing group started and they're next door in P1. I know the ground configuration is all wrong in some people's opinion (including mine) but people have got to respect the fact that 6 year old's have the right to be in that part of the ground without a steady stream of drunken rowdiness.

Its not hard to buy a ticket not near the top of N block. You have the whole other family stand and even ground

its not hard to sit in a seat in an all seated stadium either

Yeah, so F off and sit in the kop!

We are next to the away fans and have more atmosphere than the KOP. Most of the kids love it and we are just out of everyones way spreading the atmosphere. Bore off

I'm not disputing that, you're the one that's suggesting for fans in the family stand to move to other areas of the ground.

No I never said that. All I said was don't buy a ticket near the top of N1 next to the away fans where they stand? If these people were standing in the middle of the stand swearing blocking kids view then I agree they should be removed. But if you buy a ticket where people have been standing its just stupid. When there is three other blocks of the family stand and the bottom half of N. Or if you don't want your kids listening to a few naughty words then you should sit in the west stand or the KOP far away as possible from the atmosphere

Yes and they are trying to kill the atmosphere even more. What happened to improving and spreading the atmosphere. Would you not agree that a standing block in N as well would be much better?

I'm in the Family stand with three of my mates, my 12 year old son and four of his friends. We enjoy standing at the back of the N block, we enjoy the atmosphere in the Family Stand.

We do not want to move to the L block (can't stand the drum, we moved from the L block when the drum got permanent residency up at the back)

The impression I get is that the families in the family stand are enjoying the atmosphere being created in the Family Stand. For example a dad and his daughter stand just to the right of us and they have got more and more involved with the singing as the season has progressed.

Gingerrfox, if you don't sit in the Family Stand, U I do not see how you can have an objective opinion on the matter of standers/atmosphere in the Family Stand.

If you are seated in the Family stand then where? And what is your actual objection?

No one is causing any harm and the atmosphere has improved.

Oh dear, you just don't get it do you. Hello, is your brain alive. Seats are for sitting on . Simple to anyone with half a brain.

Now, go and play on the railway line. That's what it's for!

Not quite the intelligent and considered argument against safe standing we're waiting for.

I'll give you 24 hours to find one online, you can even copy and paste it if you want.

Fvck it, I'm generous.

48 hours.

But to be fair, there was a long tradition of standing in football for those who wanted to and seats for those who prefer to sit. A very tragic event occurred which was actually the result of negligent behaviour of the authorities and not related to standing in the sense that if thousands of people are funnelled into a pen designed to hold much less then people will get crushed to death, seats or no seats. The main factor was the pen fencing.

So is it a surprise that a number of people want the return of standing areas in the top half of the football leagues putting us into line with other first world democracies such as Germany?
