LCFC FOX Posted 9 November 2013 Posted 9 November 2013 I'm not bitter. I have genuinely seen far better than that. They were nothing special. best this season though, but like I said if we had scored one of the goals we should of finished they would of probably been quiet.
red5 Posted 9 November 2013 Posted 9 November 2013 I thought the drum was for forest today, jobber banged and forest sang then jobber banged and forest sang, but the leicester lads did stand so that must be cool.
Lukey Boi Posted 9 November 2013 Posted 9 November 2013 Could not agree more. We'd be so much louder without it (once we get used to it of course). 'Tinpot' is definitely the word.
LCFC FOX Posted 9 November 2013 Posted 9 November 2013 Jobber does that a lot, maybe one or two fans around him are singing to his beat but it sounds stupid when the whole away end are louder
purpleronnie Posted 9 November 2013 Posted 9 November 2013 Could not agree more. We'd be so much louder without it (once we get used to it of course). 'Tinpot' is definitely the word. It certainly is not.
Dan Posted 9 November 2013 Posted 9 November 2013 best this season though, but like I said if we had scored one of the goals we should of finished they would of probably been quiet. Derby far better.
vim23 Posted 9 November 2013 Posted 9 November 2013 I sit in C2 and the drumming has been getting on our nerves this season. The Huddersfield and Bournemouth games in particular were bad. The monotonous, no tune drumming seemed to me to be making noise for the sake of it but it contributed nothing to the atmosphere.
Stadt Posted 9 November 2013 Posted 9 November 2013 It could be better utilised, WLY is repeated at least 4 times a game.
Sykes999 Posted 9 November 2013 Posted 9 November 2013 I'm not bitter. I have genuinely seen far better than that. They were nothing special. Forest fans were not loud at all, the had about 3 chants aswell, derby in the cup were 10x louder, agreed
Dan Posted 10 November 2013 Posted 10 November 2013 Exactly, it's reached the point where Jobber sets the tone. If his head goes down, he stops drumming and everyone stops chanting. Because 1 person has stopped everyone else does. It's ridiculous. I'm not blaming him for that - it just shouldn't have become the responsibilty of 1 person. Lose the drum and get back to singing 100% all the time through the whole match. I wasn't there, but from the radio it sounded like the Florist fans put us to shame. It is an embarrassing fact that when we go behind, we shut up - but that is when your team needs you more than ever! I NEVER, EVER want to hear away supporters sing, "you only sing when your winning!" Unless we're playing away. I don't blame Jobber for it at all. I appreciate he isn't the best drummer either (although heard worse) but it really is wrong how it's reached the point where one single person dictates the atmosphere and you're spot on in saying about his head dropping. The drum was for assistance, and it's turned into reliance. Sadly, we are huge, huge culprits of only singing when we're winning and it's almost embarrassing when we sing it to anyone else. It's not all the fans, but collectively the majority give up when we go behind. Today was superb until they scored and to be fair, up in SK1 it stayed good for most of the game, but it didn't seem like anywhere else did. Really don't see the wankfest over their support. They weren't shit by any means but they certainly weren't the best. Sheff Weds & Derby pissed all over it and I'd say Leeds were better too considering we played out a horrible 0-0.
Guest Col city fan Posted 10 November 2013 Posted 10 November 2013 Drum or not, I thought the Forest fans took the piss today. And it was VERY frustrating having to sit there and listen to the cvnts do it. Our 'boys' took a pounding on and off the pitch today I'm afraid. Or so it seemed anyway.
Lukey Boi Posted 10 November 2013 Posted 10 November 2013 It certainly is not. How can you say it isn't? Have a look at prem teams and how many have a drum? A lot of league 1 and 2 teams don't have one either.
Tringfox Posted 10 November 2013 Posted 10 November 2013 I thought the drum was for forest today, jobber banged and forest sang then jobber banged and forest sang, but the leicester lads did stand so that must be cool. The forest fans sang "you fat bastard" every time he bangs the drum!!
Dickov22 Posted 10 November 2013 Posted 10 November 2013 I don't like the drum. I'm really annoyed that he's moving into the block I sit in for the Man City game. I'll probably end up going over to him and telling him to shut up.
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 10 November 2013 Posted 10 November 2013 I've been saying this as an idea for a while, but firstly whenever were losing the whole block goes silent for the rest of the game which could be improved. But coming back to this idea i have; of whether to have a drum in the kop? and either keep another drum in L1 so we have 2 drums or remove any drum from L1 completely. L1s fantastic when were winning as well as N1 but as soon as were losing it goes silent. This is just an idea don't know what you think? I personally like the drum in L1 and it creates a good atmosphere. So, would it be beneficial to have one in the Kop? If it were me, id have 2! one in Kop and one in L1.
Kitchandro Posted 10 November 2013 Posted 10 November 2013 Forest fans were very loud when they were loud, but tbh, that's what you should expect from being 2-0 up in a local derby and promotion clash. The winning side usually will be the most vocal. Had circumstances been different we don't know what the atmosphere would have been like. I was regretting not getting tickets earlier, ended up in J which is mainly full of people who are happy to stand but show very little interest in making noise. It obviously sounded louder to my right but I couldn't say how good it was in there until they scored. I didn't really hear the Forest fans at all before then.
