Sky, Virgin or.......

I might be sacking talktalk in the new year. I pay for "up to" 38mb and most of the time I get less than 15 and I keep getting 1 years free broadband + £100 voucher offers coming through the door.

In the end I settled for Sky Tv and BT Broadband/Phone but I'm still getting great money saving offers from Virgin although I couldn't move until March 2016 anyway.

I'm not that impressed with the BT Broadband even though I have their top Infinity package. When I stream the away LCFC games from the NBC Live Extra site it continually pauses and I end up 5+ minutes behind. Could this be down to too many people streaming it or is it more likely to be my broadband.

I using wifi but also have a TP link connected to my laptop.

Has anyone changed there views as I've heard negative stories re Virgin customer services.

Are you using a VPN to watch nbc, that will slow your connection down a bit. (also how are you watching games on nbc, did you sign up?)

For a while virgin media were erroneously giving me unlimited speed and I was getting 220mbps+ using an ethernet cable. Even then illegitimate football streaming would sometimes suffer from buffering, so I think speed helps to some extent but it probably comes down to the number of people and the servers at the other side or something.

I've got no complaints with virgin. I pay for 100mbps and reliably get around 105mbps with the ethernet cable. My laptop wireless card limits speed to 50mbps through WiFi so that might be a reason why some people aren't getting advertised speeds.

Yes using a vpn holo, re nbc MrsG has a pen pal   I'm  getting  between 25 and 35 maps. I guess I could try their 7 6m but not convinced I'd  get  anywhere  near that.

I guess i should say it's inconsistent as the previous game I watched it only paused a couple of times this week it was every couple of minutes.

Need to try it with Ethernet cable plugged  into the bt infinity box. Do you know if the length of the Ethernet cable affects the streaming speed?

Kodi.

I've used Kodi but my current option I can guarantee I'll always get the games just need to see if I can improve the stability of the stream.

Phoenix on Kodi is almost perfect, no VPN needed.

When I last used that the games weren't always on and the buffering meant you actually missed sections of the game and it didn't work at all without a VPN, what's changed?

They seem to have dropped the 1080 streams. It's 720 premiership plus instead of NBCsn coverage now.

Ok I'll check it out tonight.

If anyone wants a plex subscription provider PM me, 1080p every week no buffering. All you need is either an android/fire box, a now tv box or even some smart TVs can have it.

It's basically iptv, you get feeds from all the sky, bt channels and then all the sport and movie channels from around the world. Every Bein sports channel, CTH stadium, TSN, Sportsnet, Astro sports and Fox sports. I've had it since the start of the season and only difficulties I've had have been from my end. They tell you what channels the games are on and it works. Cost £60 per year.

Strokes can u pm me the details. Were using a vpn and star India atm and it's not bad but would like. Something smoother and high quality

Do the movie  programmes have subtitles?

I'll be honest with you, I've not watched any, as I just use showbox for all my normal TV. It's excellent for the footy, both the 3pms and the televised games but I'd be fibbing if I said I used it beyond that.

Where abouts in Phoenix is it I've found UK sports but that's just the regular Sky and BT channels?

Yes I've just checked, it's not listed. Maybe it's because it's on Sky?

Ok I'll try again on saturday.

Thanks for the info.

Like Moose said, always seem to get at least the advertised speeds with Virgin, we pay for 150Mbps and speed test sites usually measure it being 155-160Mbps

The length of cable won't effect it.
