maybe you should come and live in england and you wont have a problem.

Yeah I hear the website ran perfectly for everyone in England as well today, didn't hear one complaint...

Today was completely ****ed up. I have my flight booked to England the day before and get in on the Monday. I've made arrangements to get to the game, then the POS website stalled me for EIGHT ****ING HOURS. I was on there first thing, refreshed all day and when I finally got onto the site the tickets were all gone. $2k on a flight, $250 on a hotel, no ticket. The club has some explaining to do on this.

Why do they have some explaining to do? It was perfectly clear from the off that there would be very, very few seats left when it came to general sale. Most people would have secured themselves a seat at the game before booking a flight & a hotel.

Thats harsh, but i'm pretty sure if you had said something before they came on general sale a Season Ticket holder off here (i would of) would of sorted you a ticket out. And even if you were lying which i dont think you are, the ticket could of been easily shifted.

Thanks alot, I thought so to ! I'll just take it as a bitter remark from somebody who has spat their dummy because they haven't managed to get hold of a ticket or 2 or 3 or 6!

Its about time the club actually took season ticket holders into consideration. If people dont like waiting for tickets to go on general sale with the chance of them not getting a ticket for a game then become a member its cheap enough! The people who have to wait for general ticket sales are at the bottom of the pecking order for a reason!

I have 12 tickets in the SK2 block, some singles and some 2 seats together, basically scattered around the SK2 block, anyone willing to swap tickets if you have 5+ seats together, willing to pay £5 extra per seats! 12 in a row would be great, so i will pay £60 extra for that, just my mates are bunch of girls and wants to seat together!

Surely it would have made sense to get the tickets first!

Erm...lets think about this....Tickets went on general sale with limited numbers av.on monday

2 weeks ago it was a known fact there were only a few left...the phonelines...website etc were bound to be busy and unable to cope.(lucky for me i got 2 tickets at around 12 after trying since 9 on website and phone but i knew 2 weeks ago it would be touch and go if i would end up getting tickets once on general sale)   YET

You book your flight, and hotel without getting a ticket first?!

You say the club has some explaining to do?

Id say more like the people who brought you up and the education you had have some explaining to do.Why did they not tell you in which order you should do something?

Book a flight....Book a hotel....and then worry about a ticket?

Really?

Strange choices you made there.Cant really blame the club for you  acting like a tool.

Send the club an e-mail.

I'm sure if you can prove you have booked a flight over for this game they would provide you with something.

Why should they? Shouldn't have booked a hotel and flight without getting tickets first. Not the clubs fault.

No need to be a cvnt is there. I think it is a problem when the website does not let you in for 8 hours especially when I was on it well before they went on sale. If they had a virtual queue system like a first come first serve then there would be no problems. I had a friend back in England log on about 4 hours after I first tried. He refreshed the page for 20 mins and got in and got himself a ticket. I'd have asked him to get me one too if i'd have known before that he was going. It's a problem when I get there 4 hours before, but someone can just swan in 4 hours later and bag a ticket because there is no virtual queue. I got world cup tickets last week and getting there early meant you got into the portal first and got the first chance at tickets. It should have been the same rather than pot luck. And to add, I couldn't give 2 fcks about the cost of the plane ticket or the hotel, i'm just annoyed I didn't get tickets tot eh match.

Thanks to those with worthwhile comments and those that have PM'd me, there's some decent people out there still.

Not saying they are obliged to, I'm saying they might. I would if I had anything to do with the club and someone had gone to that effort to come and watch us play.

Took the chance along with every1 else yesterday.I was lucky to get mine and hundreds of other people must have missed out also.Does the club owe them all a favor as well?

Surely you know your taking a chance when there goto general sale with only a few left.Common sense.

Sure it's a chance i'm not disputing that, but the club needs a better system. The world cup ticket system rewarded those that got on the website first by giving them first opportunity for tickets, much like back in the day when we'd line up outside the ticket office early in the morning. First come, first serve. It's a problem when someone can show up 4 hours after someone else and get tickets when the first person can't. For the record, I don't expect anything from the club, but it'd be nice to know they see what a mess it was and will look into the system for next time so the same doesn't happen to someone else.

No, what I'm saying is the club could go the extra mile for someone who is spending a few grand to get here if they wanted to. It would end with a satisfied customer and a great piece of PR for local media both here and across the pond. (Even more so as a shitty website has contributed to what happened to him)

I went to San Francisco V Minnesota a few years back to watch the 49ers, I said to one of the staff at the end of the first quarter we had flew all the way from England for this and after his insistance of making a phone call we were in the box seats, were given a free jersey and had met a couple of players by the end.

Thats the difference between Customer Service and how they treat people between the countries though I suppose, of course the club doesnt owe or have to do anything, but a lot of clubs and sporting teams across the world would do something for a situation like this.

A bit of advice for you

Maybe next time you decide to book a hotel and flight without getting tickets first you should look at the fixture list and wait till we are playing Yeovil,Brighton,Ipswich ETC.

You should be O.K then

Hes a fan no more or less important than anyone else who follows our great club.Everyone could give a sob story about not getting a ticket but bet they didn't act so stupid in the first place. REally? Who buys a ticket after you book the flight and hotel. That's madness or at the very least a little naive.

Done it for loads of events, boxing in Vegas, cricket across the World, sometimes you have too and take the chance. I don't think it's stupid at all.

Let's be honest if he really wants one he'll get it anyway, just might have to offer someone £100.

Yeah madness if you're cheap. Unlike you, the money doesn't mean much to me else I wouldn't have booked it so it's not stupid it's just planning ahead. It's not like the money is wasted, I still get 2 weeks in England out of it and I've just secured my ticket to the Reading game. In my younger days, I did this to a number of world cups and saved thousands by booking early. If I got the ticket great, if not I got a great vacation for half of what I would have paid had I have waited to see if i'd have gotten a ticket. The difference is that the reason i'm mad about it this time is because people who logged on 4 hours after me got a ticket because the system let the fans down.

I agree sometimes you have to take a chance. However it was a chance so no good crying about it when it all goes wrong.Worst case scenario is he can buy a radio when he gat here and settle down to Stringer and Young. Will be back on the flight like a shot.

The system may not have been the best but fact is any system would have struggled with people trying to get a handful of tickets from people logging on from all around the world.

Maybe you should have put into the equation the fact that there were only a few tickets left.

Maybe your planning was not that good.?
