Zingari Posted 23 December 2013 Posted 23 December 2013 It worked this time because the QPR back 4 kept mistaking Jamie Vardy for a grey squirrel :xmaslaugh: i still don't like the kit . for a spectator the players don't stand out enough with the crowd as a background , maybe it's just my old eyesight but the colour isn't dominant enough
Raw Dykes Posted 25 December 2013 Posted 25 December 2013 It's the worst possible colour for a football kit. Sure, you can play well or badly in any coloured shirt, but any bright or boldly coloured kit will give you a better chance of picking out teammates quickly than a neutral or dull coloured kit will. I don't think anyone's saying wearing a grey kit will mean every pass will go astray. I'm saying it makes it slightly more difficult to make a quick pass. The players have to spend slightly longer processing the images their eyes are seeing in order to do their job well, and even if this is only a matter of milliseconds, it's still a disadvantage, and a stupid and totally unnecessary one at that. I can't believe any kit designer would pick grey. Especially since the famous, disastrous Man Utd. one. That one originally had grey shorts and socks, but was very quickly only worn with the home kit's white shorts and socks.
stockyfox Posted 25 December 2013 Posted 25 December 2013 As I've said in another thread, whenever the team turn out in the grey strip, they are no longer 'Foxes', they are 'The Squirrels'. I honestly thought that Nigel P. has sent on Chris Wood in disguise. After all, the colour matched in with our players and it was obviously a City squirrel because not one QPR player or staff member nor any of the four officials made any attempt to make contact with it. Only David Nugent and eventually another couple of City players showed any understanding of what the squirrel was trying to achieve. The squirrel was waiting for the corner to be taken and it would be Morgan's header out of danger that the squirrel would pick up so that it and Knocky could counter attack and score!
dynamark Posted 25 December 2013 Posted 25 December 2013 Seriously the F1 boys have done research on this to make sponsors logos effective and its(Williams) white lettering on a dark blue background so not bad at home. They seem to have added some yellow bits at least to the grey but its stil cack.See you all at the KP tomorrow my daughter is with us and she is a lucky charm

dynamark Posted 25 December 2013 Posted 25 December 2013 Only if its really cold! We will all be wearing grey of course to blend in with the rest of the cheerful crowd.Blue and white would confuse the players
Harry - LCFC Posted 25 December 2013 Posted 25 December 2013 We aren't 'blaming' the kit entirely. We're saying it's having a slight negative impact, one factor amongst hundreds of others. If people want to deliberately misinterpret what others are saying that's up to them but it doesn't make for a sensible discussion. If it didn't have the bright yellow trim I think it would actually be moderately problematic IMO.
Russell sprout Posted 19 January 2014 Posted 19 January 2014 Just watching the football legue goals on ssn, Noticed rotherams away kit is the same as ours, Nothing spectacular in this statement, just thought ild share as it's an unusual colour.
