shade Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 I know the Brighton game isn't finished, and this isn't knee jerk per se, but don't you think the disgusting grey kit may have some impact on our away performances? probably just clutching at straws, but with the speed modern football is played at and a split second to see your team mate, what stands out more, a bright white/yellow/red/orange or a turgid all grey strip that on a blocky stream, almost blends in to the pitch! maybe I'm just looking for excuses like Ferguson did though.
Brainy Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 see your point but clutching at straws I think. it's a vile kit IMO
Tielemans63 Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 The colour of your kit shouldn't stop you closing down a guy before he shoots.
shade Posted 7 December 2013 Author Posted 7 December 2013 How does a colour make you play bad? at a split second, or out the corner of your eye, it's less visually impacting than solid white, orange, red etc. perhaps.
Voll Blau Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 It just looks toss. Saw someone at Wednesday with a grey and luminous green Leicester bar scarf. FFS.
SMX11 Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 It clearly is de-motivating the players hence the shit performances
shade Posted 7 December 2013 Author Posted 7 December 2013 It clearly is de-motivating the players hence the shit performances haha. although without resorting to Internet facts: The key to a football team's success could lie in nothing more complex than the colour of its strip, researchers say. A study of almost 60 years of results has shown that clubs with red shirts win more matches. Scroll down for more ... {2} It is suggested that the colour subconsciously boosts players' confidence and unnerves their opponents. But a more prosaic explanation is that red shirts are simply easier to see, improving the accuracy of passes. Scientists at Plymouth and Durham University analysed the fortunes of 68 top English teams between 1946 and 2003.
Russell sprout Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 Well we won at Ipswich and Wycombe in it. Kasper wears it most games aswell, used more as a goalkeepers kit than an away kit?
Danno Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 Wearing a particular colour doesn't make you lose, it's having shit players that does.

That thought crossed my mind too.
shade Posted 7 December 2013 Author Posted 7 December 2013 Wearing a particular colour doesn't make you lose, it's having shit players that does. perhaps not, but if asked you to pick an easily visible colour, would you ever choose grey? how many teams choose grey as a kit colour? any reason it's all red blue and white?
Harry - LCFC Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 It's not that ridiculous a suggestion. Grey is harder to see than black. No excuse for a bad performance though.
Babylon Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 Lets face it... Millwall's bright kit didn't help them.
Stadt Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 The players could see the Brighton players clearly enough, they didn't close them down though.
Babylon Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 It's not that ridiculous a suggestion. Grey is harder to see than black. No excuse for a bad performance though. Blue is hard to see when the seats in the stadium are blue and the fans are all wearing blue shirts.
J.Lisemore Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 why we chose grey for an away kit I'll never know, vile kit to play in.
Babylon Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 The players could see the Brighton players clearly enough, they didn't close them down though. EXACTLY.
Strokes Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 I've been waiting for this threadHow long for? Not long if thats all you thought to contribute.
johnny the fox Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 The only colour I can see from the team is yellow..
Harry - LCFC Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 Blue is hard to see when the seats in the stadium are blue and the fans are all wearing blue shirts. Grey blends in more whereas blue is quite a bold colour, what you say makes sense but I'm adamant that neutral colours are worse than vibrant ones. Little point discussing this tbh so I'll just leave at it that.
