Monsell1976 Posted 26 December 2013 Posted 26 December 2013 I think we look more balanced with James and drinkwater, king cannot do the defensive work as good as James, if they keep playing like they did today, king will be warming the bench for some time.
Guest Col city fan Posted 26 December 2013 Posted 26 December 2013 This forum.... only a few weeks ago, King was the bloke who 'quietly ran the midfield'. Its clear to see and has been for ages, which our strongest midfield is. King is ok.. as Ive always said, thats it... and would struggle in the Prem. I like him and he'll play again of course. But he's overrated by some of our faithful.
Dickov22 Posted 26 December 2013 Posted 26 December 2013 King will still have an important part to play this season. We've got 4 really good central midfielders in our squad. Must be difficult for Pearson to pick two, but Drinkwater and James have been great last 2 games
Jace Posted 26 December 2013 Posted 26 December 2013 I bet the fans who don't understand this decision also believe Nugents penalties don't count as real goals.
Simonb Posted 26 December 2013 Posted 26 December 2013 I think pearson realised we weren't ghnna score another so wanted to hold the ball up and shut up shop.. hense gtf too!!! Drinkwater and jamez is the best midfield we have james' defensive work allows drinky to tear teams apart wiyh his distribution. .. king will improve again and work his way back into the team I reckon though
Narborough_fox Posted 27 December 2013 Posted 27 December 2013 Still think King and James at the end of last season was the strongest partnership but the Drinkwater and James partnership at the minute is looking as strong. No surprise that both of them are with James, our best midfielder in my opinion.
65RosesFox Posted 27 December 2013 Posted 27 December 2013 Hes still better than waghorn regardless of hammond? But King isn't a striker. That's like saying King is better than Logan so if Kasper gets injured put him in goal! Tactically Pearson got it right today. King will now have to do what James did and patiently wait for his chance to get back in the first team and prove himself.
AdamN Posted 27 December 2013 Posted 27 December 2013 Simply put, we have three, arguably four, central midfielders worthy of a starting spot, and only two spots to accommodate them. Someone has to miss out.
The Horse's Mouth Posted 27 December 2013 Posted 27 December 2013 He hasn't deserved to the start the last two games, before he was awful. He needs some time out of the first team.
KIRBYFOX93 Posted 27 December 2013 Author Posted 27 December 2013 Look im not thick i can see why he isnt playing but to not get 1 single minute in the last 3 matches is astounding ...
coolhandfox Posted 27 December 2013 Posted 27 December 2013 With 24 games to go we are going to need all four centre mids, having Drinkwater, James, King and Hammond available give us excellent options.
LCCFox96 Posted 27 December 2013 Posted 27 December 2013 When you look a James Drinky and Hammond's shooting you can clearly see the role of king in CM. Only CM we have capable of 12-5 goals a season when given the chance. Kings attacking game will be very important in this season and is a quality player to bring off the bench. However I agree James and Drinkwater should start ahead of him atm
