Guest Bilo Posted 29 December 2013 Posted 29 December 2013 We're halfway through the season, playing some good stuff and looking sound bets for a promotion push so far. Now though, is where the hard work begins. Derby are on fire, QPR are bound to start waking up and we are now the team to beat in the Championship. It's vital that last season is not repeated, each game a potential banana skin and should be recognised as such. So, to ensure that doesn't happen, what needs to happen in this January transfer window? The encouraging thing about today is that we had four different goalscorers and came from behind twice, that shows character. However, Nugent has not been immune to criticism this season and there have been some defensive lapses, not least today. The brutal truth is that we may need one or two new faces in the transfer window, even if only as competition and back-up as injuries and suspensions start to hit. It's equally important that we don't lose anybody crucial to our push, now must be the time to whip the contracts out. Preferably not in a Sven style though. We're top of the Championship, among the bookies' favourites for promotion and mood in the camp must be high. We could be an attractive lure. Thoughts?
Devonfox1884 Posted 29 December 2013 Posted 29 December 2013 One game at a time, but things are looking promising... Need a striker and a winger, burke and becchio should be the ones to come in IMO. Wouldn't mind that mahrez guy either.
TrentFox Posted 29 December 2013 Posted 29 December 2013 First-choice striker. First-name-on-the-sheet striker. Better than anything we currently have striker. Physical striker. Holder up of the ball striker Budget blowing striker. A heading the ball striker. Wow factor striker. Come on LCFC suits, accountants, coaches and owners ... what magic can we pull off here to get us over the line ?????
THEBIGJOHNSTEADER; Posted 29 December 2013 Posted 29 December 2013 Wonder if we could get that ibrahimovic bloke, we must be attractive now we're top. Gerrim in you twats
MooseBreath Posted 29 December 2013 Posted 29 December 2013 We don't need a new striker, we just need Chris Wood back and on form. Central midfield and defence is all fine. Left wing is ok as long as we keep Schlupp as cover for the time being. We need a back up right winger incase knocky gets injured or for when knocky runs out of steam. One young rw on loan from the prem is all we need.
Out Foxed Posted 29 December 2013 Posted 29 December 2013 don't think we've got it in our locker tbh.
MGLCFC Posted 29 December 2013 Posted 29 December 2013 Whilst it's easy to get carried away with the euphoria of a brilliant first 23 games, the original poster is absolutely correct. Strengthen whilst on top - it sends out the right message that we are now even stronger. For me, I'd like 2 new players. A winger as cover for Knockaert, and a striker who is a poacher. I was going to opt for a striker who can hold the ball up as and when necessary, but I think GTF can do that job.

The Year Of The Fox Posted 29 December 2013 Posted 29 December 2013 Cardiff got in Frazier Campbell this time last year. though they actually needed a new striker. I don't think we do at all
sylofox Posted 29 December 2013 Posted 29 December 2013 We will be fine as long as some muppet don't start that this is who we have in jan. How do you think we will do thread. That thread always fvcks us up.
ithuriel Posted 30 December 2013 Posted 30 December 2013 Think the defence is decent enough since we have changed it around a bit through December, a new left back perhaps. Think we do need a new striker to put some pressure on the front two since Wood is often injured and GTF and Waghorn are back up.
