Jamie Vardy

My seat at Birmingham away was pretty much right at the front and, because of how their pitch is, I was at pitch level. It gave me a real insight into his play. You realise just how fast, annoying and dangerous he is. He was a constant threat and I got the feeling him and Nugent were really looking out for each other and trying to work a real partnership. Not to say I didn't think this before and other views of matches say otherwise but it gave me a phenomenal appreciation of their partnership and the threat Vardy poses as a striker. He is very valuable to our style of play and there's no reason he won't improve further. He will be peaking in a couple of years time and it may well be that this sees him cement a position as a good premier league striker

I think last season when everyone was writing him off and saying league 2 is his level at best, I was saying how hes good enough and should be given a chance. In my head I thought he showed signs of class and he would be good enough for the Championship.

In hindsight, I was wrong, I didnt expect him to be as class as hes turning out. Right now Id say he would make an impact in the Premier League. Some people will say he's limited and would struggle and 'better strikers have failed at that level' etc. However worse strikers have done pretty well in the Prem, its not cut and dry. I feel Vardy would make an impact and score a few goals, especially if with a good team around him.

He's great, and he's so annoying for defences. His first touch is absolutely class now.

Last season he had a really annoying face, but this season he has a pretty cool face

I think this is what it all boils down to.

Spoke to my Southampton supporting mates at Uni about their enquiry. They absolutely creased. An Arsenal fan popped up with how we play bad football too! lol

They seen us play football this season? But then again, they are the gods of the passing game...

It took him a little while to make the step up, which isn't surprising .... But I agree, I wouldn't sell him for any price right now. He's integral to us being promoted.

Vardy is currently irreplaceable.

For me, forget Rhodes and even Ings at present. I wouldn't swap Jamie for either.

I've not seen a City striker chase down lost causes like he does, for years. His absolute thirst for not giving up on a misplaced pass or a ball going into touch has led to us scoring quite a few goals.

As in, these goals would have not happened if he hadn't of done this.

There was debate a couple of months ago on whether defenders were at error of underhitting back passes or goalies not coming out for them quickly enough. Its Vardy's pace that causes such errors. This is NO coincidence.

For me, he's easily the most improved player and an integral reason for our lofty position.

Agreed. I'd go as far as saying he is the first name on the team sheet. His finishing is not as good as the likes of Ings and Vokes, but he is improving and will get there whilst working with Phillips i think.

Honestly wouldn't swap him for anybody in the division though, perhaps even any striker in the bottom half of the Prem, apart from maybe Andy Carroll or Michu.
