NathanC93 Posted 4 February 2014 Posted 4 February 2014 Didn't know whether to start a new topic for this so feel free to move but John Percy just tweeted: John Percy @John__Percy Belated transfer deadline news - Southampton made an inquiry for #lcfc striker Jamie Vardy on Friday but were told not for sale at any price Not really important now but just passing it on!

Babylon Posted 4 February 2014 Posted 4 February 2014 100 million and they can have him. That's just a loan fee until the end of the season.
AKCJ Posted 4 February 2014 Posted 4 February 2014 That is a massive compliment considering they've got two England striker who look to be going to the World Cup in the summer.
HEGGSY Posted 4 February 2014 Posted 4 February 2014 50 mill + Lallana + Rodriguez + Shaw + Lambert should cover it
I am Rod Hull Posted 4 February 2014 Posted 4 February 2014 They could have got him for 5p at the end of last season....
Dan Posted 4 February 2014 Posted 4 February 2014 Interesting that. Southampton know what they're doing as well.
johnny the fox Posted 4 February 2014 Posted 4 February 2014 Im not being a told you so.. but when I saw him live for the first time at Hinckley, 2 seasons ago. I told my mate the lad would be a big star...fair play to him he has earned it .. that's without the help of some knee jerk twats on here who weren't prepared to give him a chance, if he was to leave , he would owe the fans here fook all... he deserves all he gets from now on.

He was wank for most of last season though, let's be honest.

deanolegend1989 Posted 5 February 2014 Posted 5 February 2014 He wasnt wank for most of last season, he wasnt really in the team. He showed signs of class, struck a good partnership with Nugent and we had a great start to the season. Scored a legit header vs Blackburn turning 1-0 to 1-2 but was unlucky it didnt count, scored a vital equaliser at Boro and generally was decent(I remember thinking he was pretty class). He got injured and then struggled to get back in..The only time I thought was when he gave a silly pen away vs Boro, but clearly he was just trying to hard to make an impression. I for one am not suprised hes come good as I always thought he would, although I must admit hes done even better than I expected.

Even last season there were glimpses of what Vardy could do. He's been well coached, he's stayed relatively fit (this is crucial) and he's got a confident swagger. He aint the finished article but actually, he's not far off. Vardy, for me, is possibly the most sought after striker in the division. His pace is so dangerous.
