Never mind the Championship, Leicester City are the third best team in Europe!

If Scott Brown was any good he wouldn't play in Scotland.

Have you ever been to celtic park? Any player would be happy to play there... Paul lambert won the european cup with dortmund and returned to "Scotland"

Have you not seen where ibrahimovich has said he wants to play there before he retires?

If our players were as good as our arse licking fans make out, they'd be at united.

Ibrahimovic said he wouldn't mind ending his career there. As in he knows he's good at footy, so he wants to be successful, but then when it's clear to himself and everyone else he cannot be competitive at a decent level of football, he wouldn't mind pissing about in Scotland for a bit. Because let's be honest Ibra with no legs would still get into Celtic's first XI.

Ibra with no legs would get into 95% of world teams...

No, he definitely wouldn't.

My lord.

Ibrahimovic is 32... He's got no pace, So what do you claim to be "No legs"

He can be 37 and still have the skill he has now... His vision is almost unrivalled

What is ibrahimovic going to lose in the next 2-3 years?

Beckham lost his legs about 5 years before he retired... He'd of walked into our squad

Owen... He'd of walked in

Scholes,

Giggs,

Ibra is better than them all.

Let's be honest Lee the quality in the SPL isn't great at all. It's true you can only beat what's put in front of you but when all's considered Celtic have got it very easy and don't have to have a particularly good squad to win that league. Personally, I don't particularly rate many, if any, players that come from that league. This lack of quality is proven by the fact very few make the cut in the Premier League when they move there. Samaras was rubbish. Commons was very good for the championship certainly but it doesn't mean he would have been brilliant in the premier league. Gary Hooper has hardly set the league alight. Their big signing this window, Leigh Griffiths, was playing League One football this season. Anthony Stokes did nothing at Sunderland, Sheff Utd and Palace. Jelavic started really well but faded badly and was perhaps riding a wave of form into the Premier League. he's now at Hull who are mid to low table at best.

These are just a few example of some of Celtic's players and the better players in the Scottish division and how they've fared in this country. There are players such as Wanyama who undoubtedly looks class. However, to me it seems that he is more the exception to the rule than the other way around.

What I do agree with you on is a point you made earlier. If they were in the Premier League with vastly increased TV revenue and the crowds they would get they would certainly be challenging for Europe. They would be able to attract many players and be able to build much more talented squads with these resources. However, as it is they play in a p*ss poor league and win it with an average squad.

I meant Ibra without any legs. Like literally. Ibra in a wheelchair would be at least 15 times better than Leigh Griffiths.

this was the first point I made, and was due to be the only point I made, but as you know with typical FT members, and leicester fans, they use any old excuse and go off topic to prove their point, the fact I watch celtic every month I can safely say I know more about the team they have than the majority on here...

I will happily have a bet with anybody on here, That when celtic join the prem (Which I think they definitely will in the next 5-10 years) They will be challenging for europe within 5 seasons...

They are one of the richest clubs in the world IN THE SPL...

Every other match has an average attendance of 5-10k and they still make 25m a season profit.. without selling players...

The fact I rate their players higher than leicester city, and could name 6-7 players that would easily get into our squad, is neither here nor there... but unfortunately, people on here who think they know everything about football, Fail to understand they know nothing about the SPL. and they do not follow it....

My opinion on the team is right until proved wrong IMO.

However my opinion on stature, and their future, is more accurate than others, As i follow them, and have done for many years...

The thing that I think is absolutely astonishing, is that some people quoting on this thread, agreed vardy could play for england!

I take it all with a pinch of salt mate!

Please point out the amount of European top flight teams out to me that have a striker at the age of 32 to 37 in their ranks who's still considered world class.

So, no he wouldn't. By 35, he'll either have retired or be ending his career slowly, but steadily in his native Sweden.

Idiot haha,

Leigh griffiths without any legs would still be better than me and you though...

True but all this said the main point of the thread is that we are the third best form team in Europe. It was also pointed out that Celtic play in an awful league and don't have to be particularly good to win that many in a row in that league. Whereas, we play in what is renowned as one of the most competitive leagues in the world, known for "any team being able to beat another on a given day". I think people are downgrading Celtic's achievement because of this. I think everyone is just really happy with where we are and we all want to bask in the glory of our team at the moment.

Van der sar

Pirlo

Del Piero

Totti

Allessandro costacurta (Ac Milan)

Raul

Giggs

Pearce

Shilton

Banks

Beckham (Lost his legs, but world class footballing mind)

Gianluca Buffon

Carles puyol

Javier Zanetti

These are not the best players in the whole world when they hit their retirement year, However you cannot claim these players had "Lost it" at their later years... They still all played top quality football.

Tell me ibrahimovic is not good enough for the world stage or champions league?

Berbatov is slow, but his mind is 2nd to none.

Form is temporary, class is permanent.

Samaras and Scott Brown? What am I reading here?

I said samaras would be a bench player, and scott brown would get in the first team... IMO... What about the other players I mentioned? they would walk into us.

Especially van dijk, I'd swap him for liam moore in a heartbeat.

Posted

You're reading cityfanlee23 bemoan LEICESTER CITY fans praising or "arse licking" as he so eloquently put it, LEICESTER CITY players, and then proceed to "arse lick" Celtic players because they have a good stadium with a good atmosphere, won 12 in a row in an awful league and based on the fact that he goes to Scotland once a month :|

Samaras wouldn't get on our bench now, let alone in the Prem. Shocking player.

Scott Brown's a dirty thug, Drinkwater and James will prove to be much better players in years to come.

Most of the others I've never heard of, presumably because they're not good enough to play in a decent league.

Lee, I specifically asked for strikers.

Then you go on mentioning Van Der Sar, Buffon, Shilton or Banks - goalkeepers, which usually have a career lasting longer than field players - and players that have retired long ago, most of them midfielders.

Hopeless, really.

But it proves my point - there's maybe a handful of strikers with an illustrious career past their early to mid-thirties.

But I'm deviating too much from the original post now.

So good young players ONLY come from top teams and do not come from the Scottish league?? The reason you've not heard of them is because you have not the slightest clue about any team in the Scottish premier league....

They've had more 'greats' than we have... So I'm not sure what you're trying to say here??

And you are arguing on the basis of never watching celtic play in your entire life! :appl:

When the best players in the world say that celtic is a massive club, one of the hardest teams to play on form, best fanbase in the world, with a huge stadium.. Then you need to look into it,

I am not trying to "Arse lick" celtic players... I am merely defending my opinion that 3/4 of the celtic team are better than ours... which is not just an opinion, it's the truth!! But so many people I've lost count, say that most celtic players could not get into leicester city squad! absolute joke...

It's not arselicking I am not saying they are world beaters, I am saying they are better than us.. Maybe our midfield have more potential than scott brown but right now... He would get in over ours... If you think danny drinkwater after 1 decent season, could captain a premier league team, or could captain a champions league run to beat teams like barcelona etc.. you're having a laugh...

ZLATAN IBRAHIMOVIC. I don't need to say anymore do I????

He's world class, and would walk into 95% of world clubs.

In 2-3 years he's not going to lose it.

your "Point" was hopeless from the start

I completely understand we have faith in the players, and we like to think we are a good team, But **** sake...

It's getting rediculous how highly we rate this team...

Let's see if we survive in the premier league without any additions?

Then we will see how good we are.. I doubt we'd stay up..

The point i'm making that although celtic have a shite league to play in, they are still a quality team with atleast 6-7 players that would walk into leicester city.

But everyone on here is quick to blow the theory away having never seen celtic play in their life haha

A bit like Ian stringer on mahrez.

Yes, I think you said ZLATAN IBRAHIMOVIC more than enough. Thank you.

I asked you for a specific type of player, similar to him, for a fair comparison and then you go on and come up with… just something. Something that has nothing to do with what I asked you for.

I asked for strikers and you serve me goalkeepers ( lol!!!), midfielders and defenders. And maybe one striker (Del Piero).

Do you see what I'm getting at?

P.S.: You originally claimed Ibrahimovic would walk into 95% of world clubs "even without legs". Which is not true.

You're spinning your argument according to your own needs now! lol

Posted

So was savage.

Savage and our old united youths had too move down market because they did not cut it at that level... So I'm not sure what you are talking about?

Isn't that the same reason Zlatan is going to go to Celtic...

The reason I could not name 1000 players is because it's very rare....

Zlatan is 32 and still scoring world class goals and one of the best teams in the world are run through him alone.... (Did you see his goal the other day?)

It's quite clear to anyone with a brain that Zlatan Ibrahimovic is good enough to get in almost any team... And he won't lose that class in the next 2-3 years, he never had pace to start... He's always been strong, skillfull and has one of the best visions and creative minds in the world.... He won't lose that in the next 3 years...

When "without legs" was mentioned, I did not think the op meant "literally has not got any legs" I thought it meant, lost a yard or lost an edge of speed....

He's never had it and is one of the best in the world... His game is built around everything but speed..
