Kitchandro Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 Knockaert lazy????! He lost the ball a lot but he never ever ever stopped wanting the ball and trying to create things. I simply cannot believe you could describe his performance in that way. Absolutely unbelievable Alright don't get your knickers in the twist. Go and find a recording and watch him in the second half when he'd lost the ball. There were several times when he gave up on it and several occasions where he didn't track back. These are facts.
Alf Bentley Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 I feel like I must have watched a different game from a lot of people... Schmeichel 7 Good distribution, no chance with goals. 1 excellent save, completely missed 1 high cross De Laet 5 Good attacking, poor defending; made 1 goal, gave 1 goal away Morgan 7 Strong and solid Wasyl 7 Likewise, with the odd slip Konch 7 Vigorous and sound, forward and back Knocky 8 MoM Excellent passing/possession, classy vision at times James 7 Dominant force in centre midfield Drinky 6.5 Below par...until the last minute! Dyer 5.5 Played for team but lacked penetration Nugent 6.5 Tireless, good flicks & team contribution Vardy 6 Watford sitting deep nullified his game Phillips 6.5 Looked sharp Mahrez 6.5 Looked dangerous Wood N/A Linesman 3 Reserve judgment on 1st goal (sharp run by Forestieri), but was well behind play & seemed not to be paying attention at least twice after that - and at least 1 non-offside was definitely wrong Watford 0 What has happened to them?! I know they've lost a couple of players from last season, when they were arguably the most attractive footballing side in the division, but they have enough left to do better than that. OK, there are worse teams and they took their goals well, but their passing was average and they based their approach on getting 11 men behind the ball, and then consistently cheating: constant diving, time-wasting & feigning injury to the extent that it was clearly not just 1 or 2 individuals, it was the manager's policy. What a horrible, worthless team! Man City beat us because they were a better team. Forest beat us because they produced a classic "away performance" - keep possession, pass well, take chances on break. Hats off to both. Watford deserved nothing for that disgraceful insult to football.
MGLCFC Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 Alright don't get your knickers in the twist. Go and find a recording and watch him in the second half when he'd lost the ball. There were several times when he gave up on it and several occasions where he didn't track back. These are facts. But he wasn't lazy Kitch and I feel your scoring is harsh, but hey, everyone see's the game differently. Thought Knocky was one of our better players today, but that's just my opinion. However, he wasn't lazy.
TJB-fox Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 People saying dyer shouldve run at his man more are the same people who would moan like a bitch when he lost possession trying to do so. If he's getting marked by 2 players, his best bet was to keep the ball and play it simple. Not his game mind
My Nads Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 What's with all the Dyer hating? He had TWO players marking him for the whole game...again! The others should have made more use of the space that created. I think we need switch more to the right, when it happens, but as good as Knocheart is I don't think he's a good winger, he needs to improve his crossing.
Dickov22 Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 Alright don't get your knickers in the twist. Go and find a recording and watch him in the second half when he'd lost the ball. There were several times when he gave up on it and several occasions where he didn't track back. These are facts. I don't need to watch again. I like most others on here saw that he worked very hard today and never shyed away from wanting the ball even if nothing was really working for him. Top player
jmono84 Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 Kasper 8 - Just for that save. RDL 6 - Seemed a bit lacklustre. Konch 6 - See RDL. Was 6 - At fault for the first goal but decent enough otherwise. Morgan 7 - Deeney was well and truly in the back pocket. Knocky 6 - Tried but all to no avail. Dyer 5 - Crap James 7 - Probably the best outfield player. Drinky 6 - Wasn't on his game today but rescued us a point. Vardy 6 - Didn't get a sniff. Nugent 5 - Poor. Pretty much agree with thisThought Wood made a difference when came on
nlukka Posted 9 February 2014 Posted 9 February 2014 Kasper 7 - good save in the first half, some rash decisions and kicking though RDL 6 - partially at fault for their second but did well for our first. Sums his game up. Marcin 5 - struggled today IMO Morgan 6 - beaten by Deeney in the air a few times, not his best game Konch 6 - some bad passes but showed plenty of endeavour Knocky 6 - not much room for him to play in Drinkwater 7 - lovely goal, absolutely great strike. spread the ball well but gave the ball away more than usual James 6 - personally thought he struggled today, gets an extra point for the goal Dyer 6 - when he had time and space I thought he looked dangerous but otherwise he was marked out of the game. Vardy 6 - not his best game, showed some good bursts of energy though Nugent 6 - again not his best but tried to initiate some good link-up play Subs - felt all were ineffective today
Sampson Posted 9 February 2014 Posted 9 February 2014 I'm honestly shocked people are giving any of our back 5 good scores, especially Schmiechel who some people seem to be rating as our best player? He was all over the place and came out and missed several crosses and conceded a long-range goal he could've done better with. One very good save does not make an entire 90 minute performance.
Dan Posted 9 February 2014 Posted 9 February 2014 Schmeichel - 6. First was unstoppable and the second was hard as well. Made a fantastic save but he still doesn't convince me at set pieces. De Laet - 5. His worst game in a while. Got an assist but defensively he was poor and he's improved that side recently. Morgan - 6. Not a great deal to comment on. OK. Wasilewski - 6. See Morgan. Konchesky - 6. Got involved today more than usual and did more going forward than Dyer. Knockaert - 6. Slowly fizzled out but at least he tried to make things happen. Drinkwater - 6. He's only as high as 6 due to his goal. Probably his worst game all season otherwise. James - 7. Scored and was probably just our best outfielder. Could've done better with their second. Dyer - 4. Anonymous. He's been well off the boil recently. If he doesn't turn up at Forest then I'd consider giving Mahrez a start. In Dyer's defence - his main asset was nullified by their defensive positioning but to me, that shows his limitations and why pace alone is over-rated. He's deadly against attacking sides but he's often got no answer when he's given limited space. Nugent - 4. Not his day at all. He's been in his best form all season recently though so I don't agree with some of the stick he's had on here. Vardy - 4. Suffered from the same thing as Dyer - they hardly gave him any space. They did their homework on Leicester. Subs; Wood - Didn't get involved enough to warrant a rating. Mahrez - 6. I was quite impressed with him. Looks another exciting player who looks for the less obvious. I like that. Phillips - Wasn't happening for him. Watford - 6. One of the better sides to come here this season despite being nothing special and despite regressing last year. I'd say they earned their point - they'd have been idiots to try and attack us. However... Watford's players antics - 0. An absolute disgrace to the sport and something's got to be done about it, but nothing will be as proven by Carroll's incident last week.
