Lost watch

Hi everyone,

A bit of an emotional appeal here. Yesterday in the concourse before the game I lost my watch. Initially I thought it had come off my wrist but I spent the first 10 or 15 minutes of the game looking for it on the floor and couldn't find it, hence I've got the horrible feeling someone's nicked it.

It's a silver Citizen watch, not a very expensive one but it means the absolute world to me because it was picked out for me by my late Grandad for my 18th birthday. He was a big City fan and I wear it to games for good luck. If anyone on here knows anything about what's happened to it, please let me know.

If it has been nicked, I'd appeal to the thief to just give it back. I won't pursue prosecution but I want to appeal to your sense of decency and just ask you to return it.

I give stewards and the police at football matches a fair bit of grief for the way they act sometimes, but I want to applaud both yesterday who were absolutely excellent in helping me look for it. I'm still hopeful the cleaners at Ewood Park will find it when they do their deep clean tomorrow, but if anyone does know what happened to it please drop me a line.

Thanks.

Unable to help I'm afraid but, without wanting to insult your intelligence, are you certain you had the watch when you got to the stadium? Certainly if you wear it out of habit, you can get the idea into your head that you had it on you the whole time, even if you'd actually forgotten it/lost it elsewhere. I've done the same before with my phone, which just happened to still be sitting happily on charge in my bedroom! Are you able to rule out the possibility of leaving it at home/in the car/coach/train?

I'm 100 per cent sure. I used it to check the time on my walk to the ground.

Wish I could help, I know what it's like to lose something of sentimental value.

Hopefully someone will read this and either give it back or drop it into the football club.

I know it is the sentiment that counts and I feel for you so if it comes to you searching for the same watch and having to buy it again, I will donate a quid. Maybe others will maybe they won't but it might help.

That's very kind of you mate but don't worry about that. Reckon I'll sit down with my Grandma at some point and pick one out he would've liked. These things happen I guess.

As mentioned by TYOTF, I'd phone in to RL tonight and ask Stringer if you can put a quick appeal out. Could be that somebody has come across it somehow but isn't a member of this forum (or wherever else you've posted about it)
