Farage V Clegg - Sky News 7pm

I hope Nigel Farage gains power. Might take time, but this country is being exploited for its generosity by those we believed we could trust and welcome here. Nick Clegg tried referring to Britian tonight, as potentially being " Billy No Mates "... What a joke he was tonight. He will NEVER lead this nation, NEVER.

Who the hell are you talking about and what is UKIP going to do about it?

I stumbled across this the other day - it's nearly a year old but provides quite a neat summary of the for and against arguments of EU membership.

I've said this before but I find it all to be one of those issues that is supposedly very important and people have very strong views on but beyond the things like immigration that are quite visible to people, what it all actually means is presented to the public very badly.

I don't feel particularly strongly about the EU - I refuse to get into too much of a lather about things I don't have that much of an understanding of (although I'm not saying I wouldn't like to have more of one).

As far as UKIP are concerned, Farage is a climate change denier so that's lost me for starters

More anti Farage nonsense. He accepts climate change is real, but correctly points the blame at flatulent unemployed Romanians.

It's true, I need to open my eyes and start living in the real world

So observant. Who else but them can we blame?

Well that was a massacre, if last week was a points win that was a knockout, Clegg looked like he was trying to convince himself rather than the public by the end. First time I've seen him resort to some personal stuff as well, trying to throw in some gay stuff at the end for a cheap bit of support.

Was delighted to finally see the anti-EU argument made last night without the focus being too much on immigration. It's a big part of it as the poor suffer most and it will drive wages down but there is far more to it than that.

Showing the corruption involved in the place, the poverty it has brought to millions, the fact it's ridiculous rules and regulations that makes our shopping bills higher along with how it has destroyed our fishing industry and shakled our rural workers is just as important as the above and often gets overlooked as people (on both the anti and pro sides) just like shouting about immigrants as it deflects from a lot of the other issues.

More Labour voters are siding with Farage than Clegg on Europe and that's a good thing, we won't withdraw from the EU without the support of a lot of the left so it's importance to focus on things like poverty and living standards.

Was glad Nigel stuck to his guns on Putin, he should, it's a far more popular and widespread opinion than the Westminster media bubble with have people believe. Firmly believe he's right that it's going to end very badly as well, Golden Dawn in Greece could just be the start of a more widespread movement the more you force people into a way of life and living standard they don't deserve.

What Clegg is trying to do with the Liberals I have absolutely no idea, gone from the party of a referendum to one of we're in for the long haul whatever the corruption and conditions. I actually haven't got a clue whose vote is trying to grab at the minute. He should go back to courting students, they are the only ones stupid enough to vote for him.

I totally concur. I'm afraid Mr. Clegg has truly lost the plot, and doesn't actually understand what policies he himself stands for.

Nigel Farage, on the other hand, clearly knows his onions, and has the guts to say what he thinks, and knows where he is going. Good for him.

He has certainly arrived now on the big stage.

It's possible he'll be another one to add to the list of;

First they ignore you, then they laugh, then they fight you, then you win.

If he gets the big two parties worried, then he has done a very good job. The arrogance with which the main parties treat the electorate has to be stopped, and this is the man to take them on. It might not be a revolution but its a bloody good place to start.

It's a shame Farage has politics that are basically the binary opposite of what I believe in, because he is going about things in the right way more or less.

I'm afraid Nick Clegg has lost my support although I will still probably vote Lib Dem (it's not a one man party and none of the other parties appeal).
