MattGamble92 Posted 7 May 2014 Posted 7 May 2014 Was this the same twat who claimed Nigel has alot to answer for by letting the biggest club hero since Frank Worhington to go? He was referring to Sol Bamba.Always seems to me like Supporters clubs spokesmen are so out of touch with the fans and everytime they organise events its an elitist get together for the wealthy businessmen of Leicester, to bring their families along.
volpeazzurro Posted 7 May 2014 Posted 7 May 2014 1.The clubs own award ceremony that you can apply to go to as a fan. 2. A lap of honour with families (which some nob heads might have cut short with there brainlesss 'look at me I'm on the pitch' tactics). 3. Bus tour round Leicester streets. The players quite rightly probably want to go on holiday instead of attending a meaningless ceremony organised by a meaningless supporters club. If you like a little club to be part of or attend in order to talk about our club then thats absolutely fine, but don't start whining just because the players don't attend and aggrandise a few self important defacto leaders. You don't represent anybody but yourselves.

What a good idea.
Rob1742 Posted 7 May 2014 Posted 7 May 2014 I have fond memories of the supporters club. You had a corner of the ground at Filbert Street, where you could either sit down in the dozen rows of seats at the front, or stand up behind them. There was also an excellent bar that was a like a real pub and I believe it stayed open all week. They had a house on Filbert Street where you could book the coaches and buy programmes from games you missed. I got my first season ticket in there, and had some very happy seasons being a member of the supporters club. I think though times have changed. Programmes are available online, LCFC do the travel themselves I believe and so the supporters club has been somewhat diluted. I don't think they have a part of the ground either, and probably no reason to have one. Shame really, I think the Ginettas have done a good job over the years, but probably now it is something that is not needed. I have not been a member for 35 years, which tells it's only story. I can't see it carrying on when the Ginettas retire, but I think they did a great job in the past, and good on em for doing it. They did good for the supporters.

I don't doubt they've done good things in the past but something like a supporters club should have a change in leadership from time to time or it becomes very cliquey, I'm not sure what they provide now other than somewhere for cliff to sit before the game without having to buy himself a drink.
Bettsj2 Posted 7 May 2014 Posted 7 May 2014 Ginetta and Charlie from the supporters club were sat in front of me against Donny. Moaned about everything all game. Before the game they were having a pop at some bloke for only coming for the parade as he hadnt been all season. The bloke said 'I moved my season ticket you fvcking twat. I just wanted to sit with some mates today' This exchange sums Ginetta up. Yes you've run the supporters club for years. Congratulations. Doesnt mean you have to have such a holier than thou attitude. His missus was there too surrounded by young boys....
stripeyfox Posted 7 May 2014 Posted 7 May 2014 The supporters club I think is a relic of an older era. Fine for those who want to be a member and I am sure Cliff has done a good job running it all these years. For me the biggest problem is not really Cliff's fault, but the media relay his drivel as if he is speaking on behalf of all supporters, when in fact he is speaking on behalf of a small section of them.

I had some bellend like that behind me at the Brighton game, moved for the game to be with some family and he seemed to think I hadn't been down all season. A lot of our fans are incapable of engaging brain and mouth at the same time. I wonder if he apologised for his comments in the Mercury to the management, players involved and the football club before demanding they sent representation to his £5 a head self commissioned party?

Guest MattP Posted 7 May 2014 Posted 7 May 2014 Someone has Pm'ed me saying Spherical Fox is Cliff Ginetta is that true?
sphericalfox Posted 8 May 2014 Posted 8 May 2014 Someone has Pm'ed me saying Spherical Fox is Cliff Ginetta is that true? As refuted elsewhere, I can categorically state I am not Cliff. I can see why I was mistaken, what with me constantly banging on about the Supporters Club etc on here and my blog I'm always writing!

Soar Fox Posted 8 May 2014 Posted 8 May 2014 Again, I'd have sent the Bakayogo lookalike from the bogs on Republic and laughed as you all asked for photos and autographs not knowing it wasn't him. lol
Soar Fox Posted 8 May 2014 Posted 8 May 2014 I've just saw the supporters clubs twitter page. Looking at the photo it looks like there's only 13 people in the supporters club.
THEBIGJOHNSTEADER; Posted 8 May 2014 Posted 8 May 2014 Just seen a pic of Cliffs wife / Ginetta's slut
