How about a league/cup where the highest rated side you can pick is 4* or similar?

How about another knockout tournament like this one, but:

32 entries.

Each player is randomly drawn a team from the champions league group stages, and gets to pick 1 defender, 1 midfielder and 1 striker from that team. Repeat the draw for the next 3 players, but you can't get the same team twice, and no player can be picked more than once. Final draw, you choose the rest of your outfield (to allow for different formations, the 1/1/1 restriction is lifted), and you pick your keeper from that team as well.

Competition format same as this one.

Not sure how to deal with subs, though...

Set up would be quite substantial admittedly, and it requires luck to some extent, but it could be quite fun/interesting, maybe?

Or just do the regular champions league
