Des. Posted 15 June 2014 Posted 15 June 2014 Welcome all to the FoxesTalk World Cup edition of fantasy football tournaments! Now I've wanted to do this for a while to coincide with the actual World Cup tournament happening real life but I was hesitant because I'd already started the Ultimate League, however this will not interfere with that competition. So here are the key points:-- The Ultimate League will still be running, I am just doing this for the time being as the real life tournament takes place- This tournament will be simulated on Pro Evolution Soccer 2014 and not FIFA 14- You can not call up players who are retired from international duty, only players currently eligible for their nations- Groups & Knockout stages are drawn randomly and not seeded- You play each other home & away in the groups and over 2 legs in the knockout stages, away goals also count- There will be highlights for the matches this timeOh there is a prize for the winner of this one....THE CHAMPION WILL WIN A COPY OF FOOTBALL MANAGER 2015How does it work?1. All you need to do is post that you wish to join the tournament by responding to this post.2. It's a first come, first serve basis. So choose the team you wish take charge of by posting in this thread as soon as you sign up.3. The tournament is fully simulated by myself, no playing involved, all you do is enjoy.4. All tournament Information including Fixtures, Results, Tables and Statistics will then be posted here.5. Please fill in the form below with your chosen formation and so fourth. This is not mandatory but it allows you to dictate just how your team sets out to try & win this competition!6. There is a twist with this style of World Cup, you will play each other twice in the group stages for double the chance to qualify.PLEASE REMEMBER, CHECK TO MAKE SURE YOUR TEAM HAS NOT ALREADY BEEN CHOSEN & YOU CAN ONLY CHOOSE FROM THE NATIONS LISTED BELOW!!!Sign Up Sheet1. The Doctor Posted 16 June 2014 Posted 16 June 2014 Just checked and he's still playing, so I'll take Jamaica and a team of Barry Hayles. Seriously though, I'll have Italy. Will sort out team tomorrow.
Mark_w Posted 16 June 2014 Posted 16 June 2014 I must admit I don't follow International football that closely so let me know if any have retired and I'll make changes. Des. Posted 16 June 2014 Author Posted 16 June 2014 They are all fine Mark Bit different than having Bellamy as your savior this time eh?
Mark_w Posted 16 June 2014 Posted 16 June 2014 They are all fine Mark Bit different than having Bellamy as your savior this time eh? You have no idea how loudly I celebrated that Bellamy hattrick, it was quite, quite sad. Easily the best moment in your FIFA/PES tournaments so far I reckon. Here's hoping Wales don't end up humiliating me.

Here's hoping Wales don't end up humiliating me. haha it was a moment worth celebrating To be honest this is the first time I've used PES 2014, so I can't guarantee the same craziness as before. Plus it will be interesting to see if someone actually picks Wales this time round...
Mark_w Posted 16 June 2014 Posted 16 June 2014 Give Kingfox Wales, he won't mind. If the last World Cup is anything to go by, Wales and Canada should be very popular choices.
kingcarr21 Posted 16 June 2014 Posted 16 June 2014 Lebanon for me. Aslong as the prolific Haidar is up front i dont mind the rest of the team. Bring on all you chumps going for the best teams. Write us off at your peril MWAAAA HAAAAA HAAAAA HAAAAA
