Does this belong in this thread? 😂

https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/nadhim-zahawi-football-hooligan-liverpool-b2623543.html

Former chancellor Nadhim Zahawi has admitted that he used to be a football hooligan and would “go out looking for fights”.

The 57-year-old, who served under Boris Johnson, revealed he was a member of Liverpool Football Club’s firm as a younger man.

Speaking at the Henley Literary Festival, a partner of The Independent, Mr Zahawi said: “I was part of Liverpool’s firm and would go out looking for fights as a football hooligan.

“In one fight with Southampton fans, I remember a giant police horse smashed me into a shop front on Seven Sisters Road in London.”

Think it belongs in the "Made-up shit that never ever happened" thread tbh

It doesn’t sound believable but the story actually adds up. Liverpool played Southampton in the FA Cup semi final at White Hart Lane in 1986.

I know someone who was there who said it was utter chaos - from the journey back from White Hart Lane to Euston. The police entered Euston with police horses and they slipped because of the concrete floor. Blokes beating coppers and horses on the deck.

Perfectly happy to believe the event happened.

Also perfectly happy to believe Cleverley wasn't there, he's not the most honest of blokes. :D

If there's one thing about ultra culture I don't get it's the capturing of your rival club's scarves/banners/shirts, to drape upside down at the front of your own section (and then burning them? The kit collector in me pains at the thought of setting fire to a 90s shirt that would fetch £100+ in good condition 😂)

Not sure how I feel about this. Club pushing pyro hard yet more than happy to ban their own fans if they use it.

There seems to be an acceptance on pyro based on the last few matches.

The Merkland stand was full of flares while the clubs official display was taking place.

Police and stewards are turning a blind eye atm.

All well and good while the results are good and it's a full house, let's see how the club reacts if there's an injury or an on field incident.
