Donut Posted 13 July 2014 Posted 13 July 2014 Brazil truly are garbage. Most embarrassing tournament hosts I can remember and that's with a lot of the recent ones failing to get out of the groups. Half the Brazil squad couldnt play for Leicester, genuinely....... Julio Cesar (no improvement on Schmeichel) Jefferson (ditto) Maicon (Was being destroyed by Bale 4 years ago) Bernard (Way out of his depth) Paulinho (Not setting the world alight at Spurs, cant get hold of it and dictate play at all. Third fewest touches on the ball? for a midfielder? ludicrous) Hernanes (????????? Where were Lucas Moura, Coutinho????) Hulk (absolute lump on astronomical wages) Fred (wouldnt swap Vardy for him, movement of a statue and covers barely any ground) Jo (Already failed miserably in the premiership with 2 clubs) Oscar (Highly, highly overrated. Probably could play for Leicester but so lightweight and gets bashed around far too much. Come the end of the season he looks haggard) And i dont think im being overly critical with those suggestions.
Dan Posted 13 July 2014 Posted 13 July 2014 Nope I agree fully. I genuinely wouldn't swap Mahrez for Hulk on the same wages. Quote me on it. Mahrez is a better footballer. I'm adamant. Brazil actually left a lot of their better players at home. Filipe Luis, Miranda & Lucas Moura not being in the squad is laughable. Have they seriously not got a better striker than Fred or Jo? Whatever happened to Alexandre Pato & Leandro Damiao? Absolutely criminal that they got to the semis. The Croatia game I still think was rigged. The Mexico game could've gone either way, Cameroon are a crock of shit though I didn't watch that, and I've read people claiming that was a dodgy game too. Scraped past Chile, scraped past Colombia and have since had their comeuppance. An absolutely embarrassing campaign from a side I've grown up knowing as the kings of the international game. Stunning.
Amin Posted 13 July 2014 Author Posted 13 July 2014 Whatever happened to Alexandre Pato & Leandro Damiao? Injuries and bad form over the last two seasons.

surrifox Posted 13 July 2014 Posted 13 July 2014 schadenfreude - (not a word you read often on Foxestalk) - perfectly describes my attitude to all this. Brazil's view of themselves as custodians of the beautiful game and some sort of football royalty, in the dumper. Bit of humility and they will certainly re-emerge as a world force
kingfox Posted 14 July 2014 Posted 14 July 2014 Oscar (Highly, highly overrated. Probably could play for Leicester but so lightweight and gets bashed around far too much. Come the end of the season he looks haggard) When he and Fabregas tear us apart, you won't be saying that then.
Grandad. Posted 14 July 2014 Posted 14 July 2014 Oscar (Highly, highly overrated. Probably could play for Leicester but so lightweight and gets bashed around far too much. Come the end of the season he looks haggard) Or maybe the fact he has played football constantly since the start of the 2011 season, didn't have a summer off through the Olympics in 2012, then 2012-13 played 64 games for Chelsea, Summer of 2013 Confederations Cup, 2013-14 played 47 games for Chelsea and then started every game for Brazil at the World Cup that were apart of the competition for the whole distance. I'm not surprised he looked a little haggard, especially at the age of 22.

Im standing by what i said though, I think he is overrated.
