Replica Shirts at the Fanstore

Recommended Posts

Posted

I've just been on the phone to Jim Donnelly, after I emailed the club.

Quite interesting; so I'll put some facts down:

(apparently) - the club has sold 12,000 of the new shirts

- last season they sold 22,000 shirts (12,000 of which where from the release of the shirt to Christmas)
- They are expecting to sell 37,000 shirts this season (an increase of 15,000 from last season)
- Puma do 4 "drops" a season for all replica shirts and what not

- the next batch of shirts will come on the 5th September (So there won't be anymore medium sized shirts until then)
- The club wasn't anticipating the huge sale of shirts this season (durr)
- The club had to initially order the amount of shirts 6 months in advance to the start of this season shirt (This means they had to make the order around last January time when the club had no clue whether or not we were getting promoted)
- The club can request for extra shirts/orders (which is what they are going to do)
- there will only be 1,000 red replica "limited edition" shirts on sale (no more if they sell out)

12000 home shirts christ you don't need to be good at maths when you will have 30000 fans the majority of home matches in the Premiership to know that aint enough, and thats based on us arguably not having enough seats either

As all of you are, I am very excited for the Everton game so I went down this morning to get a home shirt .... 'Sorry medium sized shirts (and I think large) have ran out'.

Ran out?

How on Earth can we run out of shirts. I get it, demand is very very high. So why hasn't, whoever is in charge of the Fanstore, recognised that demand would be very high, especially for medium and large shirts?

It's embarrassing. Are we a Premiership club? Do the likes of Man Utd simply run out of shirts? No because they anticipate the high demand for them, why haven't we?

I asked an assistant at the Fanstore who told me we have '2 stocks/orders a year' 2 a year?!?! Are you having me on?!

Then I asked when will the next stock be in; thinking it would come in tomorrow or Friday (Hey we are playing Everton on Saturday after all) 'in a few weeks'. A few weeks?

So basically, all the fans had to get their shirt as soon as it came out and when they all "run out" tough $hiT, and you've got to wait "a few weeks". What about fans who think 'I'll go a few hours before the Everton game and get a shirt' ... 'nope sorry Sir, we've actually ran out'. What a farce.

And before someone says: 'should have got your shirt when they first came out'. That's not the point. The point is the club should have, basically, an unlimited supply of shirts all year round if we are to be a "Premiership" club.

I could be wrong. They could have a big order in tomorrow for the Everton game, but I'm just going on what the assistant told me at the Fanstore. If anyone in here is "ITK" in the Fanstore please comment. I'm just really gob-smacked.

EDIT: I have the [email protected] to complain; has anyone got an Email of a higher position I could complain to?

Are you serious??? No patience in the world!! Supply out stripping demand shocker! I Imagine the club ordered on the strength of last years sales and then a little more on top. How else donyou go about ordering? Take a poll? And to compare LCFC shirt sales to that of man it's is ridiculous!! Laughable in fact.

P.s what kind of a man wears a medium shirt anyway.....

If they can't accommodate your size - (I was planning to go down and get a M today as well..) - they should offer us 70% off on last seasons kit if they still have them, or an away/GK kit 50% off or something.

It's literally pathetic to be out of merchandise before the season has even begun, and two weeks? That's laughable.

Why should you be offered a discount? If tesco sell out of hovis bread you don't get a discount. What a joke this thread is. Pathetic.

i agree it is difficult to predict at times but a little bit of common sense could have been used.

We are a Premier League club now so demand was always going to be higher. there was a massive clue with the season ticket queues and how quick they sold out.

so it doesn't take a genius to work out if more seaosn tickets have been sold, then it is nailed on the new season tickets holders will want to buy the new shirt to wear on match days and more shirts would be sold.

the club never ceases to amaze me off the pitch when it comes to tickets, club shop, kit launches, advertising etc.

Loads and loads of season ticket holders don't purchase the shirt.. Way overboard

I could have easily compared it to any other team in the Premiership. What I am saying is that they, along with all the other teams are suitably prepared for Premiership shirt sales. Having learnt that they had to order the first batch of shirts 4/5 months before we got promoted, I could see where they were coming from. Likewise Jim said the club is/was unprepared for the rocketing of sales as promotion was unprecedented.

"No patience" - I want to buy a shirt so I can wear it for the Everton game. What do you want me to do wait half way through the season and go "ah today shall be the day I finally buy a Leicester a shirt"?

And maybe a man who exercises more than you

Only 1000 red shirts. Oh dear, no doubt lcfc direct on the day of the sale will crash or display that silly 'you are in a queue' screen

"only".

They have loads of the  83/84 Ind coope shirts in M and L. Just get one one them, they are a million times nicer and are only £31.50 for ST holders.

If not go for the lovely GK away kit :)

??? You just make stuff up. Sept is hardly the middle of the season . maybe if you hadn't have been so lazy and sorted yourself our you would now have a shirt. XL for me mate, I haven't worn a women's size for 30 years. I think you should have your meltdown in private xx

So I only just had a phone conversation from someone at the club who was giving me random figures and quotes? [could be, but very doubtful]
Does that mean you haven't been on a run in 30 years then?

Any man who thinks he's a real man others because his shirt is XL, isn't a real man because only a girl or a child could say something that sounds so bollocks and bitchy

Gym 5 times a week thanks, I'm in shape. As I said your moaning and panicking is embarrassing.

I'd say boasting about how "big" "butch" and "macho" you are over a football forum is slightly more embarrassing.
